What a champ!

Two goals in 149 games. Hopefully they can set something up, he need more goals!

Say what you like but he has played about 149 games more than us keyboard warriors.

Be happy for the guy for 5 mins that he got to this despite most "fans" continuously badmouthing him.

Vinnie is likely to be one of the very few players to ever be at the club for 10+ years (is contracted for his 9th). Most clubs that would make you a legend.

Lia is a pretty average player and never stood out for Melbourne imo. I don't really see where he would fit in now we have Muscat and the fact that Lia was never really a right back anyway. Don't see him getting into the midfield next season either. He's a bit like the Aussie version of Christie.

In saying that, I hope his rehab goes well.

This is what I said 7 damn years ago and I still kind of agree; but I think he's done well to keep up with the pace of the A-League (generally) though I think now he's a couple of steps behind play most of the time.

Good on him for reaching 150.

Wow, trying to pick an argument from 2008. Who do you think you are, fudgeing Dr Who?

I'm not taking sides here but that is quite funny from you Termy.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

yep, classic

well done vinny

never my fav player, but you gotta nod your head to his contribution

always gives his best, does a fair bit of the dirty work for the team, always seems a professional and sounds like he's respected amongst his team mates

you could do a heck of a lot worse

Hats off to Vinnie. Lots of unwarranted stick round here over the years. Occasionally justified, but mostly not.

Level-headed managers like Ricki and Ernie knew better than that though, and valued him for what he brings.

Can't have a successful team in a salary-capped league without guys like Lia in your squad to do the business.

Good work son, keep it up, see you at 200.

Vinnie, you are a Lia-ability in the best sense of the word. Congratulations and thanks.

What a performance by Vinnie in his 150th game in Perth. One of his best I can remember.

(Having said that I thought Krishna, Sigmund and Bonavacia were our best 3 on the park, but Vinnie, Durra and Mossy were awesome too.)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Really looking forward to seeing Daniel back. Should be a fun day. Hopefully can make the dinner, but don't think can afford it.

Yeah if I had the money would love to not only attend the dinner but actually play in the game. Maybe they will want a referee for it...

Either way, will be fun to go watch, here is hoping for a sunny day!

I'd love to attend both but right now I wont even be able to go to North Harbour. Sad, I also like Lia.

wtf ? Why Patrick? This notice was the first I have heard or seen of anything being done for Vinnie. I appreciate your sources are better than main stream media. Why are you always coming down on people that do not have the access that you have?

First I heard of the testimonial was when Siggy and Lia announced it at bethels on the weekend. I think it's fair for the club to have waited until everything had been organised to announce it. 2 weeks isn't that short an amount of time.

Domey announced it at the SydNix drinks before the Sydney game & told people there not to mention it until they could announce it after the Chinese game. So doubt many people outside of those guys & girls knew anything about it.

During commentary of the Chinese game, Siggy mentioned it but im guessing a few people here would have been at the game.

the first I heard of it was it was announced at Bethels after the game. My wtf was at ballane's implication that some people knew about it and were offered cheaper prices, before it was announced publicly.

Is that what he meant?  I thought he meant its cheap because of the no notice given.

Thank you for clarifying that. Usually a testimonial game is announced at the start of a season with ongoing events organised by the players friends, family and fans plus the club puts up for a game and dinner.

I guess here in NZ we do things half hearted. I would have loved to have attended both events plus the game in Auckland but I wont be able to make any at this stage. I imagine it is not just me, there could be other fans in the same position. Despite the live/hate relationship Vinnie gets from various fans, 10 years at the club deserves recognition, proper recognition.

Fixed my spelling and grammer.
