Why did it have to be Adelaide again? We havent had them at ROF in forever. Shouldve given auckland the jest!
from what I have read the stadium is unavailable on the 19th so they had no other option to move it

OK Fact Fans ... Is this the first time a football game has been played at Eden Park (Spiritual Home of NZ Rugby) ?

One third of NZ's population live in the Auckland region (1.8% of NZ's land area). They can't be all wrong. Surely not.

You won't struggle. Hopefully the weather is good when you're here (you never know in November) and you'll be able to go out to one of the islands in the harbour. Devonport is nice for an afternoon (North Head is good to explore), the new Auckland waterfront is fantastic (perhaps even nicer than Welly's ) and there's a tonne of nice beaches not too far from the CBD (best ones are out west). It depends on what sort of stuff you're into, I guess. And then there is of course the game!

Looking at doing a road trip for this. As we have limited options in seating (disabled seats) any idea where the wellington crowd will be at this point? We want be amoungst it but are limited to Entry E 316 or Entry H 325 or Entry G 323 looking at the edan park seat plan...

Also, any ideas on good motels/hotels in the area?

Anyone keen for dinner in Kingsland before hand?

Two great options:

Taiko (fantastic Japanese which I stake my reputation on)

Mekong Neua (New Zealand's best Thai/Laotian Restaurant)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Thai/Laotian ya say?
I'd be a starter. Still confirming travel plans... Wish my season pass would hurry up!

Yep the French place next door is fantastic, and Auckland's best Chinese restaurant (Canton Cafe) is a couple of doors down too... you know it is good when it is full with a line outside the door of 15 people waiting for a table on a TUESDAY night.

(Used to live in Kingsland for 11 years before moving to Wellington).

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I vote the Clare Inn on Dom Road, although the Kingslander next to the train station might also be good.

How far respectivley from the ground are these? I hate a long walk to ground after pub as i will typically need to urinate halfway between A & B

This should be awesome for me...just gotta hang around for another month...livin just across the road...

keen on MALT bar at the moment, but it can be a little pricey. It's a nice Monteiths pub.

Can also reccomend the Mexican place....can't remember the name...La Cantina or something...

Auckland could be awesome if you ALL come and visit. Be awesome to have 30,000 Wellingtonians in Kingsland supporting the Phoenix- after all been down to visit you in some miserable conditions Bocca juniors for one!! not the weather- the Pav signing...

Isn't MALT in Grey Lynn? Little far away. I reckon Kingslander is our best bet. Or Neighbourhood?

The Kingslander used to be good
it used to be good...

The best place for a beer in kingsland is the Neighbourhood Macs Brew Bar just up 50 metres from the Kingslander. (see here).

The Clare is definitely a good venue, and only slightly further from the ground... but Kingsland offers fantastic food too for those who wanna hve a meal before the game... there's some good spots on Dominion road too of course, but the quality in Kingsland is a lot better on average (Although, when talking about numbers, rember that on average a zebra is grey.)

Yeh Neighbourhood is probably closer and better option- (Malt's a 4 minute taxi, just enjoying it at the moment) but doesn't have any TVs with sport...not a sports bar...

not convinced by the French place, it used to be better IMO- if you want French food can recommend the place in the Stables on Elliot St in the city at midtown.

Is that the place with those incredible burritos? I highly recommend!

Also the wild pork pizza at the Kingslander is fantastic.

I vote either Kingslander or Neighbourhood. Both are larger places so can fit a lot of us. Although I haven't been to Claire Inn, to be fair.

Flights  booked for this  Auckland place ,hope its good up there!!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Cant wait for this game!
My vote for prematch bar is Neighbourhood if the weather is fine, if there's a drizzle hit up The Kingslander. Both 5-10mins walk/stagger to Eden Park, and a stones throw from the train station.
Would love to see a decent turnout to this!
