Great performance. I really loved the way we moved the ball around today. Nice and short, players moving off the ball. Anything but a win today given how we played would have been an unrewarding result. To a man they played excellent football. In particular, I want to give special praise to Manny Muscat. Man he cut Flores out. A lot of intercepts, and then he broadened it out with some great supporting runs to keep movements going. Sigmund excellent, Tim Brown a good performance, Durrante worked over Van Djik after the goal, and Ifill, while he sort of drifted out of performance had some very nice touches. Viva la Phoenix, lets keep this style because this style is an absolute winner. Well coached Rikki.

Good to see you backing up the angst of last week with some positive stuff this week when it was warranted. Props.

Don't have those ones, but they are floating around.

Who ever that child was from the west coast that had his photo taken with the YF crew. Nice one

Would love to have been a fly on the wall during Ricki's half time talk, must have really laid in to the team, they were back on the pitch after only about 5 or so minutes and had to wait around for Adelaide to come out. What ever he said, it certainly worked

I would have loved to know what SIGGY said in the changing shed at halftime LOL.

Great comments - couldn't agree more. O'Leary had a poor game which has only now been compounded by Herbert's 3 match ban. What Herbert did was fair. The Phoenix have suffered under refs like O'Leary who let opposition teams take free kicks and throw ins from well away from the offence and yet makes the Phoenix take them from exactly the right spot.

It is time someone got onto the refs about this blatant cheating and made them ref the game more fairly.
Phoenix won despite the ref this time, but too often have been on the receiving end of bad decisions.

I find it interesting watching the EPL games and see how close the refs usually are to the action whereas Hyundai League refs prefer to ref from 30-40 metres away; and it shows in some of their poor decision making and view of events. To me nothing looks as stupid/silly as a referee blowing really hard on his whistle and then running 40 metres to the incident to march the 10 metres back!!!!!

Sh*t 3 games? Is that the penalty for arguing with a ref? And did the Reds player get off Red Card suspension?

Herbert got banned for 3 games? thats mental! who handed that down?
Who would stand up to the refs that they would ACTUALLY listen to?

Maybe for each of the banned games the YF take in as many large size cardboard cutout Ricky Herberts to the RoF as possible in solidarity

That rocks. Class.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

According  442, they are appealing the ban.

Dodd's red card was rescinded as an 'obvious error'.

Yeh, ditto - couldn't see it on Sunday and had only the highlights to go on till tonight
that was a damn good game from Nix
heaps of passing and movement into space
which also means players were making creative play
they looked like they were confident, determined and enjoying it again
Go Nix!

Just reading, in the Capital Day section of the Doom Onion post, that e fire alarm went off at Four Kings during the game!  Fans had to watch the final minutes outside the pub through the window.

So who was at Four Kings? Fire alarm went off at 90 minutes exactly, everyone had to leave, cue a big crowd on the pavement watching the one TV that everyone could see, and wild scenes when Siggy's header hit the net, while the actual alarm was still ringing and 2 fire engines were parked up in the street!

IT WAS AWESOME.

And...at half time I put $5 on Phoenix at $14.00! O FOR AWESOME DAY.
not to mention the King's kind offer of cheap booze when the building was given the all clear!

Fuck this stupid game
