That battle between Durante and Van Dyk is a goodun. Durante has been good today imo, has quite often taken the ball up field and provided some attacking impetus.

Dewhurst again talking rubbish about this mythical set of scouts that work for yellow fever discovering Marco Rojas.

Marco was discovered by Jon Gould while he was playing for Waikato FC against Hawkes Bay. That is what got him the trials and eventually the contract!

Waikato FC for ever!

So..remind me again. Is it Siggy that's playing in front of his hometown fans today?

Permalink Permalink

Because the yellow fever fans voted for him to go and train with the nix. Without our votes he would have never made it down.

Phoenix scholarship is a one week training thing with the phoenix, for which Marco was injured so didnt go. Gould invited him to train at a later date and then convinced Ricki to sign him - while Ricki was away with the All Whites.

Good decision from Gould!

Another Waikato player got the previous Yellow Fever scholarship (Dan Finlay) absolutely nothing came of this and the lad now plays 2nd team at 3 kings I think?

Wikipedia is a public site that can be written by anyone. I could write a page about Waikato FC and claim that they were UEFA Cup champions..

So you're saying that the YF pointed him out to the Phoenix first? Yeah, we know.
