Too blimmin right.  A week off can sometimes be counter-productive.  Plus thinking that a weak Perth team that has travelled far to a parochial home ground will be easy could be quite embarrasing for us.

Need to pull out a mega spanking this weekend.  No let up.

We want 7.

heeheee, no Robbie Fowler. Good.

Funny this, especially as theyve been thrashing 'Robbie Fowler and his new disciples' all over the radio as pre match hype...

Yes, a quick copy change was required!

All I think was that game against sydney a copy of seasons back and we got ripped up by the youths.

Ya mean when we had donkeys like Elrich and aLOLisi? bah!

Our wake up call came in the form of the Roar + Marinners. Perth wont be expecting too much from this game themselves... they have all the makings of failure. Travel, poor away form, half strength squad + the angst of two red cards last week... their mentality will be far from 100%

The one thing about Alolsi was that he certainly no donkey.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

It's funny how Aloisi always talks about how much he loves the yellow fever, but we all just talk about how sh*t he was.
Love/hate relationship obviously.

Eh, was a big fan of Aloisi when he was here - was better than Johnson and led the club well + scored a couple of important goals

This.

When have we ever talked shit about him?

Three for me, and two for them.

Maybe he's getting him mixed up with the wrong aloisi, who has been roasted on here with fair regularity

Yes, but he did not play for us.

I am well aware he didn't play for us, I'm saying maybe he got some of the abuse levelled at john confused somehow with ross. I don't know, I'm struggling to think of any other reason anyone would have an issue with R.Aloisi, he was a legend for us in the formation year

Ross Aloisi.  First ever Phoenix skipper.  A man of the fans.  Heart on the sleeve type bloke. Always accessible to media.  Straight talker. Enjoyed a beer and a laugh. Always, always acknowledged and talked up YF. Has David Beckham's shirt.

I think we can safely say he is reasonably highly thought of around here.  I rate him extremely highly in terms of his place in Phoenix history.

Hes up there for me, probably got other players who are higher as in who I prefer but he certainly lead us well in formation year.

Ready?

Here we go then......

THE Prediction!

(Lights dim, sound of distant rolling thunder, all that stuff)

The Mighty Phoenix  4           Pervs  0

We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone.

Remember, I am not infrequently correct-ish!

The march to the Finals gains momentum from Sunday evening....

Bring everyone! Be loud!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

I think there's been a bit of slagging him off as a commentator, but not as a player. That may be a source of confusion.

Must be Robb.Might not have the polished patter of some other commentators but does have a recent ex-player's inside knowledge and experience to draw on.
Agree totally everything LF1 said .
Ross Aloisi the player and Phoenix captain gave his all for us, right to the end.
IIRC, He wanted to keep going but his doctors advised him he had to stop.Legend.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

THE Prediction............a caveat.

We have to sing, loudly.
This is what has made the Fever World famous in New Zealand.

I further predict that if we imitate the brainless, team-less, location-less drone of non-football supporters from other places, that bloody vuvuzela (the same racket that spoiled the crowd participation in the World Cup), Perf will beat us 9-0. And we'll deserve it.

Sing our songs, be loud, be proud

We are Wellington! We are the Phoenix!

You might gather that I feel quite strongly about this......

I dont like the fact that the media has basically said its a certainly that we will win and pick up the three points.

Anyway 2-0 to the Phoenix for me.

We need to win 9-0 tomorrow.
Adelaide just beat our record, winning 8-1 against the fury.

Ok, what does IIRC mean?

I hope we keep a clean sheet tomorrow. No guarantees we've got 3 points in the bag, but want it badly!
