We need to win 9-0 tomorrow.
Adelaide just beat our record, winning 8-1 against the fury.
Bastards.

Any win against Perth will be a good win.
They will not lay down and die.
Depleted they may be but they have their pride  and, like ourselves, durability as the other most-travelled team in the league...
and thats "durability" they have,
NOT "Dura-bility" like the Phoenix..a crucial factor in the run to the playoffs.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Tomorrow
1- 0 gives us three points. Must do!
7 - 0 Gives us a positive goal difference better than Victory and Jets. Nice to have but....
8 - 0 Gives us the record back on our own. If that's important.

Lets hope NQF dont pack it in and leave us with a 2 - 0 default win at the end

Ok, here's one for the vuvuzela-ista's whilst I'm on the subject.
Our songs are quite easy, you'll pick up the tune straight away.
This one is my favourite. I think it goes;

Oh Grandadi!
Oh Grandadi!
Is wonderful!
Is wonderful!
Oh Grandadi is wonderful.
He's got bad wind,
Back pain
And the Phoenix,
Oh Grandadi is wonderful!

Try to practice before tomorrow evening, you'll feel much better joining in than that bloody awful mindless droning.......

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

I want someone to score a hat trick, someone unexpected.
Like Greenacre! I want him to score a greaaaat hat trick.

Unexpected = Greenacre? Last I checked our top scoring striker should be an obvious hat-trick contender. I think it's just unexpected because no one has scored one yet.

Just saw Perth Glory training after the Team Wellington match,
went over to insult them, but someone beat me to it.
I was hoping to get their tactics, and tell Ricky, but they seemed pretty zonked just in training.
Easy win, i think.

We never had the record in the first place.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah, his comments about James Franklin were funny. Also said Jamie How was quite a talented footballer.

It will be a very fast surface. Grass at cricket height and now quite wet obviously. We'll just have to adjust quicker than they do.

Fuck this stupid game

on ya Vuko!

KEEPER OUT TO IMPRESS
Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic will be out to impress both coaches when Wellington Phoenix take on Perth Glory in a Hyundai A-League game at Westpac Stadium on Sunday.

Brought to New Zealand by Phoenix head coach Ricki Herbert earlier this season, the talented Vukovic
has agreed terms to join Perth Glory next season, but his first priority is to help the Wellington club earn a place in this years playoffs.

"Glory made me a good offer and it gives me an opportunity to go back to Australia, but that is in the future," Vukovic said.

"I have business to finish off here because the Phoenix gave me an opportunity and I would love to help them into the playoffs.

"It would obviously not do me any harm to play well in front of the coach I will be working with next season, but I am only worried about the Phoenix for the rest of this season."

With six games left -- three away from home -- and on the cusp of the top-six playoff places, the Phoenix need a positive result against Glory and Herbert will be looking for his team to produce a performance in the same vein as that against Melbourne Victory in their previous home game.

That night the Phoenix thrilled the home fans with a superb display of attacking football and a repeat of that performance would surely secure three valuable points.

Would prefer Greenacre to start and get in on Marco's low crosses in the wet.

I had a dream we won 7-0 against the Victory, and I was playing alongside Brownie and Lochy in the midfield (which doesn't make sense, seeing as Lochy is in defence) but i scored two goals, and then woke up in a corporate box with my family, watching myself and the nix celebrate my goal.

Welcome to Wellington Perth. Wet, cold with a strong swirling wind.
It was hot dry and mid 30's when they left Perth. If we get an early goal or two it could be a hard day at the office for some of their younger players. There has been some big scores this week. It could be another on offer today.(though I would be happy with a 1-0)
Only negative point could be our guys a bit rusty after 2 weeks of non games

I swear the weather hasn't been to kind to the Phoenix this season. We've not had proper rain for at least a few weeks then all of a sudden when they have to play bang comes the rain.

Remember to walk the path underneath to the stadium everyone!

Looks like we might have another game of water polo tonight. Grass is way shorter than normal because of the cricket yesterday.

Should be fine, just faster than normal. This rain is nothing like they had in QLD so there shouldn't be much surface water. TopLeft072011-01-23 14:19:04
