(Lights dim, sound of distant rolling thunder, all that stuff)
The Mighty Phoenix 4 Pervs 0
We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone.
Remember, I am not infrequently correct-ish!
The march to the Finals gains momentum from Sunday evening....
Bring everyone! Be loud!So then (modestly shuffles forwards and takes a bow). Who was the ONLY one to predict this score?
WHO DA MAN???
Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

In all fairness you are usually one of the only ones who does predict a score.

They used to burn people at the stake in Salem for doing less.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
Though.. yeah, he was average.
I like him alot, but he won't stay.
We'll never get anyone so short with the nickname 'Toto' ever again..

Know what? I never bet ,and never have. Can't argue with my prediction, eh?
WHO DA MAN??

Can I be promoted to "Legend" now?

That was one bizarre game. The wind was blowing all sorts of directions, the rain never let up and the grass was shorn shorter than ToTo's sideburns. Some of the play was down right comical. Never seen so many overhit passes.....they just skidded and rolled away. Hard to judge performances but they could have played another hour and Perth would not have scored.
Rojas has genious feet.
Bring everyone! Be loud!
Yeah I picked that a few pages back
rojas is unstoppable at this level
matter of time til he's off, phoenix need to have something to show for him before he leaves for bigger things... new contract is a must
Don't get me and Clarke mixed up.

Think he has it right, I wouldn't waste my time stalking anyone.

I hope for 2-3 year contract then see him off to a bigger & better league, my ultimate hope for the situation.
We will never fully decide who has won the football.

The heart tells me your right, but my head tells me he might be too 'old' by then.

Yep, id be disappointed to see him move to another A-League club. The one thing that annoys me the most is players hopping around the league. Its ok for someone like Kosta who wasnt getting the minutes thus moving or players moving onto a bigger/better overseas league, but otherwise there arent enough players just staying put and staying loyal.

today's game was brought to you by the letter "V"
thanks to Velaphi for his contribution
and i reckon Vinnie owes Rojas a beer
shame Vukas' 'shot' didn't go in
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

who with? Most bookies dont count own goals for the first goal scorer. You might still have a winner.

In all fairness, you predicted it'd be a 0-9 loss if we did the fake vuvuzelas. We did the fake vuvuzelas, but we didn't lose 0-9

[quote=Grandadi]I further predict that if we imitate the brainless, team-less, location-less drone of non-football supporters from other places, that bloody vuvuzela (the same racket that spoiled the crowd participation in the World Cup), Perf will beat us 9-0. And we'll deserve it.

here's a article from NZPA, my question is who is Paul Greenacre, I'd like to meet him!

Phoenix win big, inch closer to playoffs
The Wellington Phoenix banked three precious A-League soccer points with a handsome 4-0 win over Perth Glory at home today.
The result saw the Phoenix move up one spot into seventh with 32 points and inching closer to a top six playoff spot.
The Phoenix could make another move up the table if they beat league leaders Brisbane Roar on Wednesday in the flood-postponed match before another home game on Sunday against playoff rivals Newcastle Jets.
Brisbane Roar top the table on 53 points followed by Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners with 46 each with Gold Coast United fourth on 42.
The final two spots are up for grabs in what looks like a four-way battle between Melbourne sides Victory (34 points) and Heart (33), Newcastle (31) and the Phoenix (32).
The Phoenix dominated their game against 10th-placed Perth today with teenager Marco Rojas once again playing a starring role as tormented both flanks of the Perth with his fast and tricky runs.
Perth were pinned in defence for long periods in the first half but somehow kept out the Phoenix raids.
Phoenix midfielder Tim Brown had the first look at goal inside one minute of the kickoff but nodded a clinical Rojas cross wide from three metres out.
The Phoenix's goal, when it came in the 10th minute had an element of the bizarre.
Fullback Troy Hearfield's looping shot beat goalkeeper Tando Velaphi and bounced up from the bar. Velaphi comically knocked the ball into his own goal as he tried to secure it while challenged by Brown.
The Phoenix hit the cross bar twice more in the half - once when goalkeeper Danny Vukovic's clearance sailed into the opposing penalty box with the help of the southerly and its bounce beat a stranded Velaphi only to find the woodwork.
Defender Andrew Durante and striker Dylan Macallister were left kicking themselves as both missed from point blank range as the ball pin-balled around after another Hearfield cross hit the bar and bounced down.
The second half was a totally different story.
With Rojas near unstoppable everytime he got the ball, the Perth defence were run ragged.
Macallister opened the scoring when his low freekick from 25 metres beat Velaphi after deflecting off defender Steven McGarry.
Another jinking Rojas run that tied two Perth defenders into knots ended with another sharp cross that Lia struck into the back of the net from just inside the penalty box in the 60th minute to give the Phoenix a secure 3-0 lead.
Substitute striker Paul Greenacre had the last say on the stroke of regulation time, heading home a cross from Lia on the right.

here's a article from NZPA, my question is who is Paul Greenacre, I'd like to meet him!
It also says Troy Hearfields header hit the cross bar, not Nicki Ward

"In all fairness" I read, then it turned into a blur......
THE Prediction was?
The Result was?
The bloody awful vuvuzela racket didn't last long enough to affect the result IMHO

Stop it. Don't do it again, please. Sing OUR songs and be proud!
I think you may have meant "source", or were you being saucy?
