Gilletts arm was out before he'd even hit the ground there...

Newcastle have recovered after a poor start. They look more likely to score.

PI is kind of like Gordon Greenidge - the more he limps - the better he usually plays.

A former Socceroo and English Premier League player is facing multiple gun and drug charges after being stopped while riding his motorbike in Sydney last week.

Ahmad Elrich, 29, who played for Fulham in the 2005-06 Premiership season and chalked up appearances for A-League clubs Wellington Phoenix and the Central Coast Mariners in recent years, was refused bail after appearing in Parramatta Local Court on Friday.

Elrich, of Merrylands, was stopped by police for having a faulty rear tail light on Blaxcell Street, Granville, about 7.50pm on Thursday, the Parramatta Advertiser reported.

When police searched him, they allegedly found two pistols, ammunition and Cialis, an oral drug that treats erectile dysfunction, the newspaper said.

Police alleged he did not have a prescription for the drug.

Elrich faces 11 gun charges - two counts of not keeping a prohibited firearm safely, two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol, two counts of possessing an unregistered and prohibited firearm, three counts of possessing ammunition without a permit, and two counts of possessing an unregistered and unauthorised pistol in public.

He was also charged with one count of possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Parramatta Local Court again on June 17 via videolink.

Oh the Irony...

He'll get a stiff sentence on the drugs charge!
