Manny's gonna have to play there - I know no one is convinced by Downey at RB but we need to find someone else to play there.

They've kind of chucked him and he's signed for the ASB Premiership.  If he went Phoenix he'd have a 4 week stand down before he can ASB Premiership.
 
Peverley maybe?  Don't think he's signed anywhere albeit training with Canterbury.

They might get away with Manny at RB against Newcastle, but he simply must play DM against MV when they come to town on October 30.

Sooner or later, they're just going to have to go with Downey at RB and hope for the best.  I'd do it this week, but I get the feeling it'll be Ward in for Lia and Manny still at RB.

Manny must play at DM, give Downey a go at RB, otherwise why sign him!!??
 
Ward & Sanchaz both attacking mid, with Brown day dreaming on the park we basically gonna have effectively no resistance in midfield...

Deans will need to reduce his squad to 16 before the team travel to Wellington on Saturday.

Marko Jesic will need to prove his fitness this week at training to secure his spot in this 16-man squad.

The Jets have won just one game in seven visits to Westpac Stadium, with the Phoenix claiming all three points in the other six.

�The team is aware of what they need to do to win on Sunday,� Deans said.

�It is always tough to get a result over in Wellington but we are quietly confident that we can perform well over there.�
