I think it just boils down to what they call "mongrel" in the hang-egg codes. Our boys are skillful, tough, and fast, but they just don't have the self-belief/killer instinct in front of goal. Nothing can explain it except psychology. Perhaps at the back of the mind is a thought that "It's just the Phoenix".

Listening to the Radio Sport coverage, the video stream is about 15 seconds behind the audio, which is a little disconcerting to follow!

Yep, a couple of recent miracle saves don't convince me either. He's cost Victory at least 5 or 6 goals due to total incompetence. I hope we get to see an example of this in the 2nd half, although I'd much prefer a couple of good old fashioned crackers from Ifill and Brockie.
