i havent read the whole topic but were YF clearly heard on the tele????
im just curioius to the amount of volume we produce as i know with time we will get bigger and louder, i reckon around the 4th home game we'll be feared by away teams

The game was emotional!

What a buzz being there, the crowd was awesome! Yellow Fever, hats off to you guys! Only event that beats that @ the stadium is the sevens, have never heard that sort of noise or witnessed that atmosphere at any other rugby game! Wellingtonians know how to support a team, Auckland where you at?!

are you drunk, this is the only place in NZ you will see somthing like that and trust me we are rookies wait a few games, then seasons we will be like any european team, minus the violence of course

Nice game to watch, Phoenix were awesome in the second half. Loudest crowd in round 1...couldn't make sense of the chants though, either you all were chanting different things or you all had to many pints at the BB.

Your radio coverage enthused about how good YF was. Can I point out one thing your loyalgunner person did get right... you'll smash this crowd. Wellington, much like Melbourne in the past two years, won't know what hit it.

(also I guess this means I take your point, HardNews.)

Interesting. Didnt you think he lacked any drive in the first half and seemed lumpish in the beginning of the 2nd???

Round the 65th minute mark he looked on his game again.

for it was his how he would pop up all over the park. i guess its not always a good thing but in the first half when the phoenix werent looking too flash he was running all over the palce trying to get something started. also it seemed he was one of the few trying to get the play out wide in the first half too.
but it did seem he got bumped off the ball too easily for my liking.

I agree with you in that sense he was everywhere. I think he suits drifing back and forth but looks alot better when he stick to a wing like he was doing more of in the 2nd half and leave the mid to Ross and ferrante who should push more often.

Just signed for your forum.  Good to see Wellington play well, it's good for the HAL and for top flight soccer in NZ.

I'm not a distant supporter of WPFC, but I'm also not a hater either.  I'm just an interested soccer fan from the US who sees a lot of similarities between MLS and the HAL and would like to see your NZ based club do well.  Best of luck the rest of the way; I'll come by now and again to read the pulse of what's going on.

Who thinks Daniel's missing of the penalty cost the phoenix the game? an equalizer coulda picked them up and they coulda dominated, where as they just stewed for 50 minutes passing the ball back and fourth in their own half...

really good point.  I  actually think it was one of Mossy's goal kicks in the first ten minutes that actually cost us the game.  If it went slightly to the left from where it ended up, we would have scored - 1-0 up in the first 10 minutes would have resulted in a 29-28 result to us.

Sack Mossy.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

One wonders where genius like this comes from. Any one for a nature vs nurture debate (I vote for dropped on head as a baby)

Still remember this like it was yesterday - flying over from Melbourne and being distraught when we were 2-0 down. Still don't know how Smeltz's header went in.
