Time for a bit of a shakeup? Can we do without;

Lia, Lochead, Hysegems, Downey, Smith?

Switch Paston out and throw Moss in goal.

Nothing to lose now.

Also, something needs to be said about these refs,... Obv our behind the scenes diplomatic protests are not working. Cop the fine and say it public ally. We had the rough end of the stick this year...

Im off to Liverpool...Dad said so...Think about the training facilities there!

I did say prematch that Williams can lay a turd either way and to be honest, Newcastle got the shit stick. Their 2nd yellow was soft. Tony's was deserved.

Can't blame the ref for this today.

After our thumping last week I find some of the comments on here unbelievable. Any points are better than none. Sure we could have done better but at least we did not lose.

Brockie should have had at least 2 goals and is unfortunately proving what I said some weeks ago. He really is not good enough and he should have been off for Huysegems . For a player that has played so many games for the AW's, Lochhead was shocking, sure he made a run into the box, but the first booking was a joke as he was behind the player and would have KNOWN he would get a card. The second was also obvious. He cost us the game as they scored from the free kick. No football brains.

At 1-0 up and against 10 men the game should have been over, but had you not known they were a player down you would never have known.

All Ben S was trying to do was cut Heskey in half all game, but he is just not good enough.

Boyd,Fenton Sanchez and Ifill are the only players that we have that are 'natural footballers' and the sooner we get some more of these type of players we are going to struggle.

Athleticism is something we do not have as a team compared to the other A league sides.

Their 2nd yellow was the right call I thought

Not sure how you can be on the pitch for the full 90 and be as invisible as Brockie

Still not sure how Paston underjumped Heskey

Subs, couldnt believe Sanchez coming off, and have seen as much as I want to of Totori for the season

Interesting that Ricki would not use Stein....

Brockie should have had 3+ Donkey.

also he should have been subbed at 50th minute mark for the Belgian.

How can Heskey head a ball standing next to Paston With his arms up ????

Ifill was great as usual.

Cernak looks promising.

It's a pity Fenton's natural football skills didn't extend to connecting properly with that tap in.

But yes, I find I can't get angry about the performance. It was very much what you'd expect from a team that can't find a way to gel, whatever the reasons for that might be. It was good to see Manny doing solid DM duties and Ifill gave us a bit more spark up front.

I agree in a lot of that. I am a bit angsty because we had 3 points. 1-0 up against 10.... We had this. Somehow, we conspired to throw 3 away and the manner in which we did not show any fight in the 2nd spell whether it be when we were in a winning position to put it away or to take the game when it was 1 all.
It could be worse, we could have none so you are right, but we had 3 there for the taking. Frustrating.

Looking at this game, both CBs I though were ordinary. Lochhead...well Hogg will get his shot next week. Manny put in a better shift prior to his suspension and I though Ifill showed flashes of the old Ifill. Cernak looked to play 3 balls on the deck which looked like magic balls but just got shut off at the last line. He looked to be ok in the time he got.

Can't really rave about the rest. Boyd to the bench, Fenton needs a bit more experience, Brocky invisible, can't remember anything Sanchez did and Totori needs larger shoes, a red nose and some colourful pants. Every team has one just that our coach seems to think he can play.

Paston should have taken the cross for the goal and I wonder how long till Moss gets a look.

Hogg had better be fit for Auckland, otherwise we'll be sticking someone in at LB that doesn't know how to play there.

When things are not going the ways you want, sometimes the harder you try the worse you become.

It is tough being a Nix player at the moment, and easy for us to bag them, but they are professional players and I expect them to be big enough and to come out on top.

As long as you are a defender then you can play anywhere along the back four /aj13

Three for me, and two for them.

Positives for me:

Ifill, Fenton, Boyd, Sanchez all looked good and were hungry.

Cernak for me was strong in the time he got and considering everyone around him did jack all. Him and Sanchez could work well in the centre of the park.

Huysegems > Brockie because at least he can put away one on one chances with the keeper well.

 Next week:

                    Paston

Bertos-Sigmund/Boxall-Durante-Hogg

                    Muscat

             Sanchez - Cernak

     Ifill -  Huysegems - Boyd/Fenton

We really need Manny in front of the back four. If Manny goes back then it's going to be Vinny Lia doing that job instead, and look how that went last week.

1st half. Phoenix of old. Slide tackles flying everywhere. Great intensity all over park. 2nd half... Yeah no comment

Some thoughts after the game:

- Crowd disappointing in numbers, but not voice and support.  I knew the crowd would be small when the J'vill train was virtually empty on the way there and less than a quarter full on the way home

- Props to the Yellow Fever - great banner and general all around support

- Great to have Sisgmund and Muscat back. We looked more solid with them than without them
- Ifill superb, my Man Of The Match,
- 'Ferenc Puskas' Fenton is indeed a natural footballer and will get better and better. Still plenty to learn though
- Brockie woeful, and no idea why he wasn't subbed for Waffles. Poor decision by Herbert, in my opinion, not to do so.
- Cernak made a strong, positive impression
- Totori needs more game time
- Paston definitely off his game and surely Moss should be given a chance
- Refeereing was sh*te but even-handedly so
- Don't get Lochead and why he is still playing
- Heskey is one bloody strong unit
- A point is a point and we will take even though I lost my $30, but the three points were there for the taking.

This
The most important thing was no to lose again....so thats a positive. The rest was dross
Ifill creativity  > daylight   >everyone else
WTF with those subs??
Anyone got a crowd number?...looked small on TV but maybe everyone was sitting out of that Brisbane like sunshine

apparently 6500, which about 3000 more than I expected

That's surprisingly decent. Pitch mics are tricky things to judge the voice of the crowd by but although it seemed much quieter than normal I heard some valiant, if rather unsophisticated, efforts from YF to rev the lads up a bit when things had turned to custard late on.

Because the other side of the ground had more than usual due to the sun, the TV couldn't pick them up. Plenty that were in the sun in the first half went to the other side second half

First half was okay if not spectacular but what a woeful second!   Paston definitely needs "resting:   Lochhead was .....dire?   If brockie took his chances better he would win the golden boot as it is he looks slow and lazy. Cernak looked okay when he came on but Totori?  not good enough at this level and personally I would have subbed Brockie for waffles

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the weak part of the team is actually Ricki at the moment. Sure, we can try and pick holes in a number of players' overall ability or performance on a given day. In the end it looks though as RH is unable to pull the rabbit out of a hat, both with the team selection and with substitutions that I have seen so far. The Jets are not a world class team, and we are their bogey team 9/10 times, with or without Heskey. Happy to hear others' views.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Agree. Ricki said earlier in week team was desperate. Played like it in first half. But what on earth did he say at the break? Obviously not keep up the intensity otherwise we will get dicked.. Probably more like great half guys couldn't ask for more, we are all over them

We need to get other Oceania players to fill our import spots. Because if you can score against the All Whites, You can score against the best defences in the A-League...

Is it poor decision making?  or sheer bloody-mindedness that he wont change the side. Not far off the team that got dicked at Sydney last week and not great today either, fortunately The Jets are a poor side
