Moss

Bertos Boxall Durante Hogg

Fenton Muscat Sanchez Ifill

Brockie Stein

Its change for the sake of it and some players may not be as good as the ones they replace (and in fact may perform worse and take a shellacking again) but Ricki cannot pick those players again and condone that performance. I'm actually advocating change for the sake of it if only to teach players accountability, actions and consequences, call it what you like. Moss comes in purely on an offchance that a different voice at the back may make a difference, not for anything that Paston has done/not done.

Also in the Herald:

"Herbert's chances of turning the side around have been made tougher with five of his players one caution away from a single-match ban.

Andrew Durante, Ben Sigmund, Louis Fenton, Manny Muscat and Jeremy Brockie have all picked up four yellow cards and another before round 21 would lead to an automatic suspension."

It could get a lot worse before it gets better.

Agree whole heartedly, Paston eneds a breather after that horror show, not much he could have done about most of the goals. Siggy too needs a break to think about his game.

Based on last night a Fenton suspension would be a problem...  particularly considering his last was for that 'dive' against Victory.  Fucking A-League refs.

We don't do milestones well, just look at Lia's 100th game yesterday. I think only Daniel has won his 100th, and that's because he was an injury time sub.

Not sure that is correct use of honking there George.

Milestones make us honk or we're honking when we have milestones.

Different tack from last match:

We DON'T want 7.

And we're gonna get dicked. I just know it.

(need to wash gear from last match too).

surely this week, Ricki just has to look at our fragilities and build from the back.

this weeks goal should be keep a clean sheet. Who cares about scoring. We need to get some confidence back, and the ones with the least at the moment will be the defenders.

With manny back, lets hope he can hit some form. But the main job he needs to remember is to sit in front of the back 4. He shouldnt push up. If he wants to do that then he should have stuck with RB. Siggy is often caught out pushing forward to cut out a pass where realistically, it should be manny (or whoever is playing DM) to be the one who is covering that area

Also, could we please see a slightly more balanced bench this week please? 3 wingers isnt exactly the smartest way to use this limited space

finding it a little hard to entice people to come to this game, will work on them for rest of the week but not holding out much hope of filling the car.

Agreed, focus on defense. The attack isn't really suffering anyway, just not scoring. I mean we hoofed everything against Sydney and it resulted more shots than they had in spite of the scoreline. Its only a matter of time until they start banging goals in (hopefully Brockie gets fired up to prove GVE wrong). The defense on the other hand is dire at the moment and the leaks have to stop before the team can stop going backward let alone move forward.

Agree with OP formation, except would rather Iffy upfront and Stein wide.

How many home league games have we now played since our first? I make it 74 - this Jets game will be the 75th + 4 finals games? Please correct me, I would like an accurate count.

Isnt just Brockie who picks those type of cards up many of our guys either pick up ridiculous ones or get the rough end of crap decisions.

Does that figure also include the preseason cup games and am sure we played a friendly there as well in the build up to our 1st season.Memory fading me.

I make it 71 league games, and three finals games. Used stats from Ultimate A-League, which have been very, very accurate in the past.

We might see Boxall in CB again soon. Must be some competition there at the moment.

Hope we can go 3 games without the ref giving Dura a card for some weak sauce.

Might be a plan to have Boxall start, so we don't run the chance of having both Dura AND Siggy carded  in same game, quite possible given the amount of pressure they're all under.

Okay, am now over Saturday( still hurts and grates but better). Picked the home shirt of floor in wardrobe and wore out today. Kept my head held high, and answered all the jibes and smartarsed comments, with"Phoenix til i die, thru thick and thin".

Back to supporting the team 100%, and looking forward to this game. Weather is supposed to be fine(so should be raining with strong winds).

I find that glassing the f*ckers stops any comments.

It doesn't always work out if there are more of them.
