These guys have become the Phoenix's bogey team.  They've won seven of the last eight games between the two.

Long range weather forecast is very favourable. Dry, NW, 18 degrees.

Would love to think 10K might turn up to see WPX v Emerton, Carle, Reddy etc.  More likely 6-7K. Nix-Six deal might bring a few more in.

As for the side, I'd guess...

Please, please not Brown and Lia on the park at the same time.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Would be good to have Ifill ( ) start, but would he last the full 90?

Any updates on Pavlovic or Sanchez? I think Pavs supposed to be looking at this game as a return. Also will Ifill be OK to start? If all three are good to go...

Do you actually think Paston will start Piney?

Do you actually think he'll start at centre back in place of Siggy?

All I hope for is that Sydney don't score a goal from a handball. Oh, three points would be nice too.

As long as they have Reddy then we have a chance.

Perhaps Daniel for Bertos and Ifill to the right?

Hmm Sanchez fitness?

Suddenly we have a wealth of midfielders.

Sanchez/Lia/Smith/Brown/Ward. what's the pecking order there? All have some claim to form and usefullness.

Don't think Pav would get a bench place for me. Smith would get it ahead of him.

Where are we at re: Yellow Cards?

Who needs to get a one week suspension out of the way?

No-one really.  Ward has three yellows.

How far away is Sanchez? Still another couple of weeks?

Thought Manny picked up his 4th on the weekend?

I'm pretty sure Brown, Lia and Bertos will all play, and Warner will start, so given all those criteria here is my formation:

                    Warner

Bertos      Siggy      Dura      Lochy

      Manny     Brown        Lia

            Ward           Smith

                    Greenie

Subs
Ifill - better take the safe option to sub him on at 60min mark.

So not wishing Brown and Lia together in midfield.....but it will happen and Leo will start as well.

If we can start and play 90 minutes like the last 30 agaisnt Adelaide then you could have reason for optimism especially if Ifill starts. But you never know with this team. If Rickie selects the midfield I think he will select then I have my doubts about the result.

This is who should play IMO

         Pasty
Mucsat   Siggy Dura lockY
    Lia    Smith

Ifill    Ward    Daniel
     Greenie

He will select

          Warner
muscat  Siggy  Dura   Locky

     Brown  Lia
Leo    Smith    Ifill

   Greenie

One point in three home games makes this a must win....Sydney is always tough but I think Ifill will pull us through.

Surely Daniel has done more to deserve a start than Bertos.

Muscat didn't get booked on Saturday.

He's only on two yellows.  He also got two which led to his red against Perth, but they don't count towards the yellow card tally.

Currently...

Ward 3
Muscat and Lia 2

I'm in town for this, looking forward to doubling up after last weekend.

News, I'd offer to bring you some donuts but we both know they wouldn't last till Sunday.

Back to the match, hopefully we can get more minutes out of Ifill this week. COYN!

this will probably get shot down straight away, but what about playing a back 3 with muscat playing as a holding/defencive mid? knowing his workrate, he'll help out the D all over the backline, and help in the attacks, get him more involved in the game. And i dont think we can drop smith from the side straight away, he's been the most consistant out of our mids this season, and has played the position well

Nah we'll get murdered by Sydney with only three at the back, plus we're to slow  in the midfield to try that sort of Ac Milan carry on

                  Warner
    Muscat Dura Siggy Lochy

Bertos  Ward     Brown    Daniel/Ifill

                 Smith
                        Greeny

Paston
Ifill/Daniel
Lia
Tsattalios

Warner will start because Herbert has an inability to make up his mind on keepers. So only changes when they are injured or suspended.

I'd prefer Smith started and we had striking cover on the bench.

I'm nervous about this one. Sydney seem to be playing well. I can't handle another 3 points dropped at home.

Nicky Carle has been up for it lately, he seems to be playing much better now Emmo is there to take some of the pressure of him.

Probably more the fact he got a decent pre-season in.

Nervous for this one - we haven't been good against Sydney these last couple of seasons and our form at home as completely dropped off

To be fair, that's what normally happens with keepers unless they have a monumental stuff up.

IMO Paston is the better keeper - Warner's distribution is really, really poor. Not a huge difference between them though.

yeah, i think you're right!

Do we even have a keeping coach yet, or are they still doing it alone?

Take Leo off and Brown.

My brother spotted him at Fryberg Pool this morning, apparently still using crutches to walk. Unlikely he will be available for Sunday.
