MetService is showing possible light rain & southerlies about 20 knots at about 1pm;  MetVUW showing no rain, southerlies 20 knots.  It's a low pressure system sliding down the east coast of NZ, they're the ones to watch, they can hang round for days.

3-day forecast shows light rain in the morning -looking to be patchy in the arvo.

Yay!  No lawn mowing.

Might take the thermals to the match... but doesn't look like NQF or Perth style weather (earlier in the season).

I'll take the crappy weather if that means we get the same result as the last time Newcastle came here on a dreadful Wednesday night and we won 3-0.  My brother still laughs about the fact I had to go under the stand at half-time because I was so cold.  Might be a chance to see if I've hardened up!!

Terrible weather for North Queensland game as well. Result? 3-0 win. Man, I hope it pours down on Sunday

Nah pray its a nice day cause half the stadium will be novices and if they have a bad cold wet experience they'll neva come back but if they have a fun exciting game then many of them will more than likely start attending regularly and if Phoenix starts having massive crowd support right frm the start of next season its got to be good for them

Hell yes. If I found a fun, exciting dame, I'd be coming back!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

that was a Freudian slip since I am a fun exciting dame :P  & I might like going to Phoneix games but If I spent 90mins wet (frm rain guys) I'd be more of an unexcited damp squid

From the Herald website: "Storm Approaching New Zealand"

"Winds generated by the low were likely to affect the whole North Island this weekend and early next week, reaching gale force near Gisborne, the Bay of Plenty, Taupo, South Taranaki and the Cook Strait.

- NZPA"

Nah, too pessimistic surely???!!!
