Just want to say I'm stoked by the news.

Elliot is one of my favourite All Whites.
Plus he's a local Wellingtonian, and we've lost one since Kosta left.

Wish we'd had him earlier in the season, but better late than never.

Anyway, I hope he enjoys being back, makes lots of tackles and sets up lots of goals.

Indeed, he is exactly the kind of player we need to shore up our midfield and provide a bit of time on the ball and free up players like Leo, Ward and Ifill to play their game and attack.

And hopefully over the next two or three games Ricki will try to get the Durante North partnership happening with Elliot infront which will sort out our defensive problems.

Welcome Simon.

Yep, agree with all of that. Just hope he signs permanently in January.

Think that Ifill will benefit the most from this - someone to release him from deep.valeo2010-11-02 01:12:34

I'm guessing he's leaving his Mrs back in the US for a couple of months, no longer, which is whay it's over 10 games as a guest. Better thatthan nothing.

I think he'd be great alongside Lia and Brown, and I think Lia would be superb alngside Elliotttttt. Hope that's the combo.

I think we could start up a chant on his missus?
Something like Under the Thumb or something, but can't think of any good tunes.

Just doing some Fever reminiscing here but am I right in thinking that before the first ever pre-season game v Sydney it had been intended that we would use the Thistle as a base but they said they wouldn't open on the Sunday so we went to the Bencher instead? And there were song sheets on the tables......

I reckon Lia is a similar player to Elliott - he's good at those long raking passes too.

There's a chant in that..

to Def Leppard's 'Armageddon It' chorus:

Leader: Can you Welly It?
Crowd: Simon Elliott!
Leader: Really Welly it?
Crowd: Simon Elliott!

Don't let Hard News see that. He becomes quite emotional when faced with anything related to Def Leppard

TV1 new showed Elliott watching the Phoenix training, and mentioned he was going to sign. Then in the same clip it showed Toto pick up an injury. but if Elliott was already at the training, does that mean he would've signed regardless of what happened to Toto?
