ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
Dadi failed on that mark very badly. His red mist runs around the park very nearly cost him a send-off.
Combined with the worst penalty shot seen in A-League history, I think Dadi needs to get his head straight.
Does he still want to play back in Perth??
The team struggled from the start, and Siggy at RB totally sucked. It shows our weakness in the back, as our attack is built around Lochy and Troy getting forward.
Time to look for a reserve LB.
Really ? Which side did both goals come through ?

Siggy no where to be seen for the 2nd goal. Mckain and Dura had the front post covered.

Both goals could've been avoided if McKain and Durante were up with it. I blame those two. The first was disgraceful, Durante running lazily toward the ball and not being able to turn nearly fast enough, but still, where the hell was McKain? Never should there be that much space for a striker there.
Most sensible post all week. Thankyou SB, a breath of fresh air.
Though it is funny to hassle Ferrante, don't get me wrong, he certainly isn't nearly as bad as made out to be by some on here.
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

doesn't matter where the ball came from, the point is Siggy should have been marking the Perth player who came running in on the RIGHT.
Two of the best penalties I have ever seen were also against Perth - in the old days of the Kingz. Wynton Rufer slotted them both at one game at Lancaster Park in ChCh. They were very soft, but never in doubt. So cool and professional. Keeper was so frustrated after the second one that he got booked for kicking the ball away.
I remember he had a huge game but was criminally unlucky for a couple fo the goals.
Every time we got to Perth we're awful... same with Hindmarsh.
So now we know......
From the Sydney Herald
"Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert will demand a please explain from new recruit Eugene Dadi following the striker's selfish display in the club's 2-0 A-League loss to Perth on Friday night.
Dadi, who was snapped up by Wellington earlier this month after being discarded by the Glory, drew the ire of Herbert for taking a second-half penalty instead of regular taker Paul Ifill.
The 36-year-old Ivory Coast veteran embarrassingly fluffed the spot kick straight into the arms of goalkeeper Tando Velaphi, who barely had to move an inch to stop the slow-rolling ball.
Wellington were 2-0 down at the time following first-half strikes from Danny McBreen and Todd Howarth and Dadi's miss snuffed out any prospect of a comeback.
When asked whether Dadi should have taken the kick, Herbert replied: "Look I think there's always context in games.
"All I'll say is I'll address the players and give them my view."
A clearly agitated Herbert was reluctant to elaborate when pushed further on his thoughts.
"I think we'll leave that in house," he said.
Phoenix skipper Andrew Durante admitted Dadi, who is fighting to earn a contract with the Phoenix for next season, should have never taken the penalty.
"I think when it comes to penalties the most confident picks the ball up and takes it," Durante said.
"He's scored three in two games, he's up against his old team.
"He was obviously confident.
"Eugene spoke to Paul and Paul allowed it.
"Hindsight's a beautiful thing, it probably was the wrong choice.
"But he put his hand up and acknowledged it.""
BE struggling for a contract next year after all that I thnk
We were sh*te where we're always sh*te - on the far side of the Island (PER & ADL - as per his Newsness) we didn't have our best eleven out there and had players playing out of position (clearly) and coming back from injury... we did create several chances and only conceded two goals, and saw the worst ever attempted penalty since my mates sister had a crack at training at Belmont School when I was 8 (she in fact, was 4) and I shall never speak of it again... it wasn't 6-1, it wasn't 4-0 and, best of all...
We're not Gold Coast - how the hell do you react after 6-0 FFS?
Will be interesting to see how Ricki and the boys pick themselves up and handle the pressure as we MUST get a minimum of 4 points in the next two games... draw in Stabville and a win in the most harmonious little village (of the damned) in our main two island would be a fair outcome over a tough week and keep us in the six.
C'mon ewe Nux!!!SurgeQld2010-01-23 15:57:51
if we do win, it won't be because we're without him.The rest will do the world of good for him, he's been playing the full 90 week in week out since July.
yes it will.
I had a dream. A dream where we played quality football. A dream where no one ran to the sideline only to kick the ball out with no opposition near him. A dream where the left back actually played a good game.
I woke up and realised the match day squad was without one, T.Lochhead.

oh happy days !! OH HAPPY DAY-AY-AYS !! ohhhhhhhhh HA-PP-YYYYY DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS !
trust me, this is a blessing in disguise.

I am so ashamed......

I remember he had a huge game but was criminally unlucky for a couple fo the goals.
That's not the way I remember it.
Rufer was clearly capable of deciding at the very last minute exactly where the ball would go, and how hard. For the first one he passed into the side netting opposite to the way the keeper had dived. Second one, he did the same - only the opposite side. I'm sure that if the keeper had stood his ground, Rufer would have struck it with power. A maestro!
It'll be great to the Phoenix play there next weekend. And destroy Adelaide.
Ive flown from NZ to Perth before and played footy the next day, twice. Its not that bad. And if they knew they couldnt cope they shouldve just left earlier instead of f**karsing around and losing
[QUOTE=foamy]is it just me or does dadi not use his size at all? he really doesn't go into challenges etc with everything he's got. i don't like that. he's not exactly small he should be getting stuck in. i understand last night he had his head injury so was probably a bit tentative but i noticed it last week as well.
He cant move to or chase the ball, he has to be given it while unmarked or unchallenged. If hes in space and unmarked hes got time to think, otherwise hes a mess. Last week the Fury had him pinned the whole game.

Totally agree. The penalty was a shocker, and his head was clearly all over the show, which in some ways makes it hard to criticise him for wanting to take it. Should have been over-ruled by Ifill or the captain though. When I saw him step up, I was expecting him to blast it over the bar- was certain it was not going to be a goal.
Also think Dadi should perhaps have been held back for another few days at least because of the injury in the previous match- I think it looked as if he was conscious of it and was wary of attacking the ball in the air or when being challenged (with one, studs-up notable exception of course.)
