We generally play with 2, sometimes 3 attacking players supporting the loan striker.  If we played more defensively then maybe we wouldn't be leading the goals conceded column.

My point being always start with one forward obviously doesnt work. Maybe they should try 4-4-2 or wow even 3-3-4. score goals .Smeltz is a easy target for any defence.

Err we did start with 2 strikers until Elrich got red-carded.

Lochead pushes forward alot, I think sometimes he pushes to far forward. Makes it hard for him to get back fast enough to defend against counter attacks.

More attacking penetration from the midfield forward will provide a good attacking option. The sort of thing that resulted in Felipe's goal v Sydney for instance. I think we've underdone it considering the relative strength of the midfield.

Well we kept getting told we were playing 442 and I thought Elrich looked quite forward for much of while he was on, but perhaps I misjudged and it was more 4411

Its going to be another couple of weeks before we find out. Have to admit apart from his goal in his first game have been a little disappointed in what he has shown so far.

Great game guys.

Just staggered in from the Cambridge after watching  the game and i reckon even though im totally Brahms and List that from a team perspective and im not talking about  the result which was obviously sh*te but from the way way the team played for each other that  for once they actually were playing as a team !there was true grit and determination with a take no prisoners attitude that has so long been missing ,if we can add some real technical  ability to this during the transfer window and forget about sideshows  then i reckon we will have  team to really fear in the A league ,we can learn from this in a positive way so  onwards and upwards with then Firebird i reckon !!

Jesus christ, stop being a complete moron auskiwi. Please. We have no trouble scoring goals (when we have 11 players) and I don't think Ricki Herbert needs tips from an internet coach whos only qualifications come from playing Football Manager 2007.
