Why were they up there?

The rowdy bunch up the back of Block 23.
Looked like wannabe hooligans.
First time I've heard one set of home fans sing 'You're not singing anymore' to another set of home fans.

Of coarse we missed them. Its splitting the zone. Not nearly as effective.

Why were they up there?

It'd be much more effective if we were all together in the zone

could it have something to do with the stewards stopping anyone going anywhere other than their allocated seat?
Or is it more sinister......
Lovedd the Ninja Turtles by the way

home fans abusing home fans??? proply cause theres no away fans to abuse?? haha na they were up there cause they wernt allowd in 21 because they all bought tickets at gate and wernt allowed to sit in the nearly 200 free seats in the zone.

And that was the other thing, what was with all the free seats in the Fever Zone?  Are those normally taken by people who can't get tickets in the zone?  If so why aren't these seats being sold!  Poor effort from those that didn't turn up this week.

Actually theres a bunch of about 10 30-40 year olds that stand up the back chanting. And then the ninja turtles game and a few others and it became aisle 24 fever. Few oldies in Aisle 24 weren't too happy

security wouldnt let them in.  They are the group that are normally down the front.

Yeah, its because of security. A lot of people (including me) get their tickets at the gate...Even if you ask for a ticket in the feverzone you get one in aisle 34 or something

Security just outside of the feverzone were rubbish...anyone who tried to start up some sort of atmosphere and stood up singing etc, was kicked out...i think that is why they all went up the back of the aisle as one big group, away from stewards, then eventually more people seemed to join them.

I couldnt understand what was up with the discouragement of singing and have fun in other aisles....security got this very wrong. Splitting the feverzone could possibly be quite effective in there being more of an atmosphere across the whole stadium, but the stewards weren't allowing it to happen.

Thankfully, i managed to scam the system and get into the feverzone with some mates :D so was all good in the end

Totally not cool with them taking the piss out of us. Waste of energy that could be used taking the piss out of Sydney

If there's a second group, fine, a bit of fan club rivalry can maybe keep things in check and maybe spread the metaphorical Fever. But we need to be a united front at the game. Take the piss out of us as much as you want after the game, call us up on not cheering as much as you want outside the stadium - but when Ricki's men are on the field, thats where your shouting should be aimed.

Though I'm pretty sure these are just the bottle tossing yobbos that caused security to go so nuts on us anyway a la. One of the girls I was sitting with got hit by a bottle, and it didn't come from the Fever Zone...

Props to the TMNT though

Sh*t to see quite a few empty seats in the feverzone. Even though one of them was mine...

Haha the first fan rival chant i heard was yellowfever zone singing "theres only one yellow fever"

It was all fun, since it really only was sung once.

Those guys where the same t**sers who were chanting racist chants, sitting in other peoples seats and spraying beer everywhere during the Perth game! The same bunch of non-football supporters who just thought it was a day at the sevens and managed to piss me, and others around me, off! shabba1212007-11-18 14:52:23

it was a good laugh at first, the two groups singing different chants, but after a while it started to sound a bit random.

I think as a crowd we should sing one chant at a time, then it'd bloody awsome!

plus i got hit by an empty beer bottle which i think they threw. Though I think it was the security guard in front of us they were aiming for...

Thats a shame then. Hate people who treat the football like its the sevens

Sad that beer bottles were thrown still...Did you let a steward know so they could look out for it?

When I realised there was about 10 Sydney fans down below the video board, I tried to start up "You're not singing anymore" when we scored, but no one else took up the challenge. It's not often we get a chance to sing that one. I was in Aisle 21 Row D.

Come on guys, let's not get too negative here.  Fever isn't about being elite, it's about supporting the Nix.

The "there's only one yellow fever" chant was all just a bit of fun and we only brought it out the one time, otherwise I think it's great that other parts of the ground are starting to get behind the team in a vocal way.

There's no right and wrong here lads.

That said, throwing beer about and pissing people off is a no no.  We want to encourage the crowd, not turn people away!

COME ON THE ALL WHITES!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I think the fact that ticket checks were only done in the feverzone (making it a restricted area) is kind of a form of being elite...thats the problem i saw with that. Also the fact that they give random tickets out at the gate, making it impossible for a lot of people to get in. Also stewards kicking people out in aisles other than feverzone if they tried to have fun wasnt so cool.

I can see how this would annoy people. But apart from that, it seemed to work very well.

Though i still think if the stewards just shifted people along in crowded areas, would work better.

lol yea... they said he from tawa or something go figure lol.. but na wat can u guys come up with to fix this problem of peeople walking up to the gate buying a ticket and then not being allowed to experience the fever??? im not saying fever is  politically correct but surely with only a crowd of 8000 people meaning at least 25,000 seats are free whoever  instructed these stewards to do what they did nd watch probably 100 people breakaway from the zone gota b disapointed considering they were a rather vocal... nd wouldve been better as one???? your thoughts?

Mate, all I can suggest is talking to the club (you around Tony ?).

We have no say in it.  The club made the decision.  I sent you a PM on it.

I work on weekends, so my attendance at games depends on it being quiet at work...So why would I want to pre-book a ticket when i may not even go to the game? A lot of others would also make an on the day decision to go to the game.

Its a bit of an arrogant thing to just say that and not try to come up with ideas to accomodate these people.

Not sure if i should say this, but, i text a couple of mates who were in the zone, one came out with 2 tickets, gave one to me, then we both went in. Was the only way i could possibly get in.

Well judging by yesterday, unless ya sneaky, pre-booking the tickets is the only way to get in.

Until or if they club change it, of course

I think this whole thing has been blown a bit out of proportion.

If you want to sing and chant you don't have to be in the fever zone to do it.

blah blah unallocated fever zone seating. Last time I'll say it.
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago

The place i was sitting in the first half, security were kicking anyone out of the aisle who happened to be standing, singing or creating any sort of atmosphere at all. That, and the restriction of not being able to get FZ tickets at the gate, also my cousin has a season pass in aisle 26, do ticketek swap these so he is able to go into aisle 21/22?

It worked perfectly apart from these 2 points im bringing up. No harm in mentioning so they could possibly be discussedand maybe fixed is what i figure.

I was hoping that I would finally get to stand in my correct place this week, but no, some bunch of teenagers were there who wouldn't move.

More stewards please!
