I didn't see him at the wednesday game, and from the latest raining updates I've heard he hasn't been at training, and Malta have a game at 3.20 our time tomorow AM. Is he with the squad? Could he make an appearance? Tony P?

I was under the impression that he was called up to the Maltese squad.

Is this Maltese qualifier televised?

3.20 am tomorrow is correct, Prague is 10 hours behind us

Malta faces Czech Republic on Friday at 1720hrs at the NA Streinici Stadium, Jablonec.  This friendly encounter will serve as a good warmup for Fitzel to assess his squad, ahead of next Wednesday's FIFA World Cup Qualification Match against Sweden in Gothenburg.

Manny and John Hutchinson from CCM are the reps from the A League

It is available on this site for sure and the reception is usually pretty good

Nedved or not - it's still awesome. They will still have Koller, Kovac, Baros etc. Amazing opponent. Think they were 2nd in the world standings back around the last world cup.

It's so awesome that he's got a chance. Really hope he can shine

1-0 to the Czechs, Manny started and came off at halftime along with three others, trying to find a match report. Sauce Oska2009-06-06 07:46:51

Yep, he has done himself proud. I hope he gets to play in the qualifier. It does show there are scouts everywhere and one must have seen him playing for the Nix.

Did he take a Phoenix flag or a Fever tee shirt with him??
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Great effort! Now we've got a maltese international in the team! Pretty good too see that  he got half a game of INTERNATIONAL football after only a year in a fully professionally environment. Its gotta say a bit about how were training our players. And gotta be a big plus for the profilie of the league as both him and john hutchinson got a good amount of time on the pitch.

Emanuel Muscat, know as Manny, was robust at the back with Alex Muscat in front of him occupying a rather advanced role whilst John Hutchinson was utilised as a playmaker in front of the defence.

Well we are trying to get into the Asian Champions League. Don't worry, people will have to find where Wellington is on the map.

Well three Muscats in the team, they must be related. Good to see that he got game in the first half. It was 0-0 HT. You can't blame him for the goal conceded from the volley from a right wing cross at the 77th minute then.

Not bad for an away game against Czech Rep.AllWhitebelievr2009-06-07 23:25:20

Where's Manny???

He has arrived in Sweden and can be seen in the picture on this link, looks like he is enjoying himself

http://www.mfa.com.mt/MaltaFootballAssociation/detail.aspx?id=141704

Their game is on Wednesday 7.00pm Gothenburg time which is 5.00 am our time on Thursday morning, just before the All Whites Vs Italy

Perfect

I'm loving this, a guy plucked from Green Gully, takes all his chances, he probably was our most improved player last year and now he is on the world stage, in a game that is crucial to Swedens chances to be at the World Cup

Hope you get on the field Manny and do yourself proud !!

Manny on the bench as they kick off, maybe he will be on later. Hutchinson got a start

half time 1 - 0 to Sweden

Malta missed a sitter early, having reasonable possession, just slightly outclassed

Hutchinson playing pretty well, doing some good distribution, caught from behind a couple of times, but doing ok at this level

Well, it's his 2nd cap, the friendlies do count in that respect.

What this means, however, is that he's tied to Malta now.
