When can we expect to see Mulligan in action?  I thought that Muscat was out of his depth tonight and struggled to contain Allsopp. azyr052008-08-24 21:48:37

I'd assume he was still unfit. Hopefully he gets out there soon because we could use the cover.

I agree with you Azyr05, Muscat was exposed to many times down the Phoenix right hand side.

I thought Allsopp and Fabiano both had superb games and were the difference on the night. I guess it shows the value of having two out and out strikers....

Note: I also thought Fabiano should have been booked at least twice for diving in the box, but it seems to get ignored by referee's no matter how many times they are told to book diving.

Muscat certainly struggled, he wasn't helped much though, seemed to be left on his own to deal with Alsopp - which hge struggled with

Queenslander 3x a year.

Also Muscat didn't get much defensive help from Hearfield. Troy is good going forward but doesn't get back enough to help out.

Manny was terrible last night. I did think the cover was pretty slow to help him out, and Allsopp was clas, but nonetheless Muscat looked well out of depth. I just hope Mulligan can solidify that side of the defence like people are beginning to expect he will.

After he was left for dead a few times by Allsop Melbourne decided to use their left side as their key attacking weapon. Muscat was up against two even three palyers with out any support from either of the center backs. Can't wait for Mulligan, his defensive and freekick ability will give us a huge boost
You know we belong together...

Going by Herbert's comments on the club site in the match report I think you'll see Mulligan sooner rather than later.
That said, I think Muscat shouldn't be dismissed entirely on the back of one bad game. He looked extra the previous time the 'Nix played the Victory, and Sunday was only his second game at A-League level. Assuming he learns from the experience I think he'll provide excellent cover.

Seems Muscat is the scapegoat this week

Honestly lads,a player has one bad game and we all over them saying they the worst players in the league...no matter how well they have done in previous games for us.

Muscat got targeted by Allsop and Melborne and unfortunately we did not figure that out and get support to him when he repeatedly got isolated.

He was no worse than Moss or Lochy who were also ordinary.

Having said that Mulligan is an experienced right back and hell we need some quality from our dead ball play.

I think you have to question just how seriously Melbourne took that game, to be honest.

Hmm.
[QUOTE=wiki]"Felipe" - is a Phillips Screwdriver who always considers himself a very important tool. Sometimes, his ideas could make a problem worse.

Could be on to something.

I'm excited to see Mulligan on the pitch, but be warned - last time I got excited about seeing a player on the pitch, it was Ahmed El**ch. At least he scored that goal I guess.aussienixfan2008-08-25 21:15:42
