Plenty of good options here. I voted D-Mac but in retrospect a lot of comments aimed at him have stopped over the last couple of weeks. When thinking about this more, I actually think Leo takes it out. The amount of booing he gets when there is nothing on and he passes backwards, to keep possession, is staggering.

I think the booing might be when there IS something on and he passes backwards......

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It might have been..once or twice. Nine times out of ten he has taken the right option, sometimes it has very clearly been the right option. And it's pretty sickening to hear a nix player to actually be booed in welly.

I didn't boo Leo, but perhaps those that are, are doing so because they know he's a fast little player and want to see him turn it on and speed past the opposition and take them on. He has the skills and the speed, perhaps not the belief?

Mind you a groin injury would certaintly slow you down. you are right, passing back and keeping possesssion was the safest option. I hope it was the injury doing that, because Leo on fire is awesome.

Don't agree with booing him, but I've been VERY disappointed in him over the last season and a half. On numerous occasions he has had space to attack behind defenders and simply hasn't done so. Compare him to Marco, whose first option always seems to be to have a run at the defender. Leo's first option seemed to be to do anything but run at defenders.

He seems to have lost all confidence, and hopefully this break will give him the chance to recharge his batteries and come back next season more like the player he was.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Tim Brown - Goals 6 Assists 4 Last season 8 Goals 1 Assist
Vince Lia - Goals 1 Assists 2 Last season 0 Goals 1 Assist
Nick Ward - Goals 1 Assists 1 (not sure about his stats)

Dont know what I was talking about before Tim Brown doesn't do much when compared to the other midfielders. These stats show he doesnt play the seagull role and the box to box midfield role at all well. 14 Goals in 2 seasons from the midfield is crap.Tunnel Vision2011-02-07 14:34:22

And Brown is a crappy version of Cahill - he doesn't do much most of the game but pops up with important goals

He's taller than Cahill, and they're both much harder working than you think, but the comparison is apt.  That's why Brown is in the A-League - a crappy version of the EPL - and is one of its better players.

At the start of the season D-Mac got a lot of criticism on here before he'd kicked a ball for us and it doesn't matter what he has done since he still gets grief. He might botch the occassional shot, but I think people are just looking for his mistakes. He wins us a lot of ball in the air and has scored well in recent games. In the second half of the season he has been one of the standout players, in my opinion.

Lol'd
I voted Lochhead for being consistantly bagged for like 3 years despite being a stand-out year 1 and consistant ever since.

I forgot to include Paston to, he used to get a lot of criticism.

Hmm, this thread hasn't turned out quite as positive as I was hoping... guess some people are determined to whinge!
