Who would you have taking set plays? For me if has to be Bertos (assuming he is starting instead of Kwasnik), going on the first half yesterday Gao is just too inconsistent.

Lochhead puts a good cross in... :D

Actually, Daniel for crossing and Gao for shots.

At the start of the season it was Mulli no doubt but errr, not much chance now methinks. I don't see a lot of trainings so I'd have to take someone's word for who is the best with a dead ball but from what I've seen Daniel's not to shabby (on his left) and Gao can hit the ball well with either foot.

Daniel for corners and I'd say Mully for free kicks but he's not on the field so probably Gao.

Its a hard question because its really a weak spot in our game.  Gao had a great shot the other week that was saved in Newcastle from quite some way out, however we don't really have anyone that can consistently threaten to score from set plays.

Smeltz needs to be on the receiving end. I've never seen Coveny even consider it. Bertos plays good balls into the area but if we're going to shoot well everyone's on his back about being inaccurate.  Gao takes a lot of our kicks but is incosistent and just as likely to fly a wild shot into the stands as threaten.  Daniel may be our most consistent option but he's not getting enough gametimes atm.  Tim Brown?  McKain?  Ferrante (if he's on)?  Lochhead even?

Gao or Daniel, i think that the set pieces are fine, it is the finishing that is the problem IMO

I think a lot of his finishing issues are to do with nerves as opposed to lack of skill. When he has the time to stand over the ball and line up his shot without the pressure of an active match I'm pretty sure he can hit a decent freekick

Daniel for corners when he's on the pitch. He put in a couple of lovely ones on Sunday.

Anyone that doesn't take a f**king quick, short free kick when we are on the edge of the bloody box! Couldn't believe we did that. The QLD players weren't back either.

I believe that was Leo!!!
Gao hit some very nice free kicks on Sunday, had the defence in all sorts of trouble, those of you suggesting mulligan take the dead ball attempts - remember the couple of games he did play??? I think you'll find even then Daniel took them above Mully.....

The best cross I saw on Sunday was Siggys!!! (the one that Gao latched onto but the keeper saved) give him a go :P he does everything else we ask of him pretty damn well!

theres a big difference in a cross from open play and a dead ball situation, Siggy on the fly with one man to beat is sweet, Gao was doing fine on the dead ball situations. All we need is better positioning in the box for him tio hit!.

quite true.. in that case daniel, thought his looked the most dangerous because of the speed behind them, if you whip in free kick at a high speed god know what can happen (preferably goals for us!!)
