The Phoenix have been blessed with great gloveman but what keeper is your top performer?

Last season's Reddy then this season's Vuko

Reddy. He played so many MoM performances last year when it counted.

Reddy sadly wanted to move and stay in Sydney. Shame as he was the very best we have had. Vukovic, we could have signed and missed the chance. Loyalty can be a two edged sword sometimes.

I have watched Reddy for years before he played for us.
He was great for the Nix, but he is not in the same class as Danny V.
He got dropped from Brisbane because he was crap. He sat on the bench for ages and ended up in Wellington.
As I said, he was outstanding for us, but I still don't rate him.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Well, if Paston didn't get injured last year and this year we would probably back him

Because if he signed for Perth, he must have been available to be signed. I think possibly Ricki's loyalty to Paston and the situation with Crowther who may or may not yet be signed for another year etc come into play.

Or maybe he wanted to go back to Australia..

It really is a pity that Vukovic is going. He is so much better than Paston and Crowther.

I do miss Mossy - but I'm afraid Vuko wins my vote.

I am pretty sure that a couple of months ago.  A lot of you were bagging Vuko

I think that we should seriuosly be looking for a keeper for long term. The last two season mark Paston has had quite serious injuries at a time when we needed him the most. We have been very lucky to have had the services of Messrs Vukovich and Reddy but is mark Paston going to be suceptible to these injuries in the future and if he is then retirement may not be far away

Very true Paul, we should be looking for a long term solution. someone with experience but young enough to grow with the team. Perhaps around 25 years old.

I'd take Mossy. Vuko has been brilliant though, and Paston has been very good.

We have been blessed with some top draw keepers since the word go. As Leggy said, even Reddy, who has been average elsewhere was brilliant for us.

From a performance point of view, Reddy was the best for us - don't remember him ever having a bad game for us.

Mossy was very good for us too, particularly considering he had some of the worst defenders ever to grace the field in the A-league in front of him, especially in the first season.

Vuko will probably become a cult figure among the fans for his crossbar-hitting/goal-scoring rep. And some pretty good keeping performances too.

Its a bit of bad timing to be doing this poll after everybody is still on a high after his goal don't you think?  the outcome is obvious

Allegedly

Two words - (same as last season) Kawin Thammasatchanan

20 (almost 21). First choice keeper at Muang Thong Utd (Thailand), and Thailand's No. 1. Played in all 30 league matches in 2009 campaign (Champions), and most of last season's. Played in AFC Cup last season, making the semi-finals.
Broke his hand at Asian Games, so wasn't involved in Thailand's Suzuki Cup humiliation. Injury meant he also missed out on a rumoured trial at Man U. Played first game back yesrterday in ACL playoff v Sriwijaya. (2-2, lost on pens) In the shootout, he saved two.

And if he was that good, he would be playing somewhere else already.....

Vukovic just edges Reddy because of consistency. Vukovic has been excellent at both CCM and here. He was good enough to make the Olyroos squad (until the ban screwed that up for him) and to get a transfer to Turkey (until club idiocy screwed that up for him). I fully expect him to excel at Perth as well. Meanwhile Reddy has been average at Brisbane, excellent here, and average at Sydney. While I'd imagine Reddy would have remained fantastic had he stayed here, I have less doubt that Vukovic also would.

Vukovic can score goals, so it is an obvious choice.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Hits the woodwork 50% of the time though, not good enough in my opinion.

You're right, He needs to work on his long range strikes.

Shouldn't be so hard on the lad.  Breaking the egg is a big boost to confidence - his goals could see us through the finals series!
