that develop the game locally stuff is utter crap, just no logic behind that what-so-ever. i don't see how we develop the game if we have the whole squad made up of kiwi's where only like 6 are A-league quality and subsequently lose every game.

but back on topic!!

Bang on.

Just rewatched the Phoenix jets game and I think people have been a bit harsh on Daniel. He was only on for the last 15 mins. In that time he forced two corners and put in three good crosses. In fact the pressure that the Phoenix built in the last 5 mins that led to the Gao penalty came mainly down the left through Daniel.

He did more in those 15mins than Kwasnik did in the whole game. Get Daniel, Bertos and Gao on the field at the same time....the goals will come. Those three were outstanding in the preseason cup. They have hardly played together since.

People should stop looking back to the pre season cup. It's obvious that we were pretty much the only ones who took it seriously.

Isn't that besides the point? The point was that the trio of players who looked effective as a combination have not had the opportunity to play together as a unit since the season began, with either Gao or Bertos (or both) having been injured.

Isn't that what zinidane was saying - not looking back to the pre-season cup.

No, what's frustrating to watch is that at the moment we don't HAVE an attack worth diddly! How can Daniel be slowing the attack down when it has no speed or impetus anyway? (Smeltz honourably excluded).

Is this the famous Diddly Squat? Never seen him play, but he's often mentioned in the same breath as the Nix.

Let's give him a trial. Hell, start him unseen. He'd be company for Smeltz if nothing else.

Costa has to be above him in the pecking order imo.

The purpose of the PSC is build-up to the Aleague itself though, surely having it there at all is pointless unless we use it to decide on combinations etc. for the season proper. Those three were great then so why aren't they being used now?
You know we belong together...
