Agreed. We have really missed having a G** or Chen in the team. Let's get another one in there, surely one can't be that hard to find?

So Tony P said we only break even if there's an average of 10 000 per game?  Is that break even over the whole season of just break even for the stadium rent?  You'd think that would be the whole season but in season 1 we were 11 000 and we still made a loss overall.  We did just start from scratch, though, and there were many costs involved that weren't involved in later seasons.

Basically I went around in a circle in that post and contributed nothing.  Apologies.

I'd say 10 k avge wouldn't quite break even - 13 games with 1500 more at each = about 20,000 more tickets sold.  Average of $30 perhaps (gold, silver, student, kids) gives you roughly $600k. Not sure if all gate takings go to Nix - I'd assume the stadium charges a fixed price for hiring, plus htey get the food sales takings, and ticketek get their fees, so they most likely do.

Maybe with that, plus a licence of 10 year duration* and then the merchandise, sponsorship etc may make up the other $400k.

*my no1 wish - get the licence and the rest of our collective wishes can follow, there's f**k all use about getting all your christmas presents you ever wanted in Dec if you're going to croak in January, for want of a less morbid analogy.

I like the analogy, Addicks. Ten more years! Ten more years! Ten more beers!

I'd like to get to more games at the RoF.

Three for me, and two for them.

My wishees are.....

14-15k home games.
Every home A league game at the ROF - Dont mind preseason elsewhere.
Season ticket holders to get a season dated badge with their ticket.
A 6'2" speedy center forward
A Multi purpose full back that can play either right or left back with equal ability.
The club website to improve.
Season ticket prices to be the same as this last season.
For the current squad to be kept together for the most part.
Fringe players to actually get to play in a reserve team.
A youth team set up too.
The club shop to stock up on heaps of different gear, especially 2X: tops (lol)

Three impossible asks as it comes down to the Stadium trust who obviously dont give a f**k about normal punters when there heads are obviously stuck up their arses in their corporate box.

1] Cheaper beer
2] To remove the current catering and their front line customer service people whom make it so obvious they dont want to be there to serve you. no smile for the most part.
3] Said catering replaced with Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Subway, Food Court , and anyone else who is prepared to give say 20% of their profits for the privilege. Those food chains could open with the offer of overtime for their employees on the day of an event and that way, they would save on the costs of the booth as we all know they wont be permanently open.

As I said, those three things wont happen because they are realistic and probably better for everyone concerned than the current situation. right now the Stadium trust are encouraging everyone to fill up on food before they arrive and drink as much as they can before arriving.

Junichi Inamoto?

I'd like to be able to drink a decent beer at the games.  at worst, something decent from the macs range.  at best, epic pale ale or tuatara or some such.

A good list.  Like it, but can live without Reddy (heresy I know) as I think we forget how good Paston is.

I would also like the ChCh game to be in the school hols.

...it would be good to see the Nix in Auckland. Now I hate Auckland as much as the next ex-Aucklander, but I was watching last night's game in a pub in Auckland with a pretty decent crowd. It was weird see a bunch of Aucklanders chant "oh Wellington" while in an Auckland pub!The out-of-towners thread showed there are a lot of Aucklanders and Hamiltonians that often make the trip down to RoF (I've come down twice from Thames) and I think it would be nice to reward their commitment. Maybe a pre-season game in Auckland would be nice at the least.

Yeah it was a tad strange singing it at Foxes but good fun all the same! I'd love a pre-season game at Waikato Stadium.
