So much for my new years's resolution not to get so bug eyed and hysterical about Nix games. Blood pressure is currently at critical level as usual.

For the record there were horrors in season 1 that easily eclipse the farce we saw today.

Still remember Christie's f**kup

Smith's f**kup this time

Don't get as worked up over it as I used to. Is done. Conditions played a huge part. Move on.valeo2012-01-08 18:42:36

Both teams had to deal with the conditions and you'd expect the Phoenix to be more used to them, Perth seemed to cope alright, they had more attacking threat and many more shots on goal then we did. Using the weather is an average excuse. There was no cohesion or passion today and we got severely punished for it.

Today's game was the worst - capped off by conceding a soft, soft goal.

Also felt sick after NQF stole a late draw in 2009 but that was to draw and not lose.

Sorry to be all n00b but could someone please educate me (and other new fans) about each of these famous 5 results? Probably preferably someone who has allowed their blood pressure to settle down a bit first lol.

10/11 was 4-1 loss against the Roar that ended the 24 match unbeaten streak at Westpac.

for me that season 1 defeat was worse, i can't recall the details but feel less suicidal/homicidal after this one

still pretty pissed-off though

The Fury game was a wrist slasher for me, now that I think about it. Also a dodgy free kick as I recall which Grossman bumbled into the net off the wall in the last seconds.

Also effectively cost us two points rather than just the one point as today's goal did.

Not a game decided on a late goal, but the Victory game earlier this season was the worst I had ever felt coming home from a game.Today's game I have already chalked up to the weather, and moved on.

Now I'm even more bummed as I thought we had 25 unbeaten games at the stadium

Actually I thought the loss to CCM immediately after the 4-1 Roar loss in Oct 2010 was the worst. Although the looks on the players faces today was pretty similar.

^^^This.
Although back then I was somewhat used to it, I'm sure we had some terrible statistic like 75% of goals against scored in the last half-hour something.
It's been a long time since we conceded crappy last minute goal like that and that makes it so much worse.

Not even a question. Every loss at home we have someone seems to think it is the 'worst loss ever', but clearly it was the CCM with Christie/O'Dor (or was it Old, can't quite remember).

Off the top of my head:

07/08: Jeremy Christie blunder allowed Sasha Big Nose to score an undeserved winner.
08/09: Absolutely bucketing down.  Manny got pwned.  Allsop kept banging them in.
09/10: Last minute killer which extended our draw run to about 15 games.
10/11: Pwned.  Lost our home 'banker' status.
11/12: Today.

I'm with these guys. Season 1 was terrible to watch, in terms of always conceding last minute goals from schoolboy errors. It made every game a mix of unjustified hope, and crippling fear. O'dor, Old, Christie... these names still send a chill down my spine. Yesterday was nothing in comparison.

Back in season 1 our team wasn't as good. We didn't have a decent central defender (Karl Dodd was OKish) or right back. We didn't really go into any games expecting to win. IMO yesterdays was the worst because it was so much worse than what we have been playing in previous weeks. Too many individual mistakes turning over possession, way too many 50/50s went glorys way.

This. 3-0 home loss with Josh Rose scoring twice.

Though to be fair, there are a few candidates to choose from.

i feel like a 3-0 loss is bad, but once you've got 5 mins to go, you know you've lost - whereas yesterdays was rough because it was at the death to a team that should NEVER win in welly.

Dark times last season.  Loads of spectators leaving early for both of those games.

Lots of angst on the forum, mediocrity labels in the meedja.

Well, we were pretty bad yesterday, but we were pretty bad the last game against Perth when we beat them 1-0.

That one we nicked late, they nicked this one, so it's kind of evened itself out. Plus the conditions yesterday were somewhat of a mitigating factor.el grapadura2012-01-09 12:41:21

But they were OUR conditions. Everything should have been in our favour.

Was the weather anywhere near as bad at the other "Worst Ever Home Game" nominations? Because from a fan point of view I would expect the conditions (for fans) to carry some weighting when you ask what the "Worst Ever Game" is.

This 'blaming the weather' business doesn't fly with me, time and time again the weather has been our asset. I can think of at least two freak goals we've scored that have been down to weather alone.

Agree with EG though that we didn't deserve our last win vs perth as much as we didn't deserve this one, so it's best to just call it even and move on.

That CCM loss back then was cringeworthy, worse than yesterdays imo.

i thought the last game vs perth at the stadium was just as bad as this one, this just looked worse because of the weather

The performance in the 2:1 loss to CCM in Nov was just as bad if not worse than Sunday's result
