Wouldn't it be great having Roy Krishna up front with Oscar Zawada next year?
At 35 years of age (turning 36 this year) I feel like Roy's most important weapon, his pace will be leaving him. I don't think we want another player in the team losing his pace (see Kosta).
Best not to live in the past, we need a new speedster. Maybe Yan but he still needs development because he is not the finished product yet.

Though his club this season Bengaluru (4th regular season) likely weren't as strong as his old ATK Mohun Baganclub. They actually played each other in the ISL final. 2-2 after ET. ATK Mohun Bagan winning on pens. Krishan played the full 120 mins, and even converted his pen in the shootout! Dimitri Petratos both goals for ATK Mohun Bagan (2 pens)
Roar fan I know on Twitter is hearing talk about us signing Jordan Holmes, I hope it ain't true personally.
Why not? Last game he played against he had a blinder. Haven't watched enough of him to know how good he is. Good age for a keeper and probs a similar level to Paulsen so they can battle it out against each other for the number 1 role. I like it more than a Liam Reddy type player who would be good at mentoring Paulsen but if Paulsen wasn't playing well we'd then have to rely on a near-retirement goalie.

I think he can be a bit error prone but as the season went on, he did get better. Plus I wanna see us put faith in Paulsen to step up.
Wouldn't mind Brillante, bit old though. Has a lot of great qualities and is a strong man (i remember him getting his tooth knocked out, he picked it up and played on). Would help us defensively definitely which could be what we need. Has a decent pass on him too.
If we are to sign him and he does play well then we would need others to step up and be more creative/attacking since he's a defensive signing for sure.

Not keen either. He has improved but unlike some of the bigger keepers like Oli, Kurto, Gauci, all of whom can pull off brilliant, strong armed reaction saves, Holmes is a bit ponderous and I can remember a couple of couple of goals where the ball burst through his hands. Definitely error prone too.
Roar had a pretty good defence this year but it was the back four that were the main ingredient. Not sure I'd be comfortable seeing Holmes as the last line behind a defence as crap as the Nix's has been the last two seasons.

good player, don't think a midfield of him and Rufer would be brilliant though. Would definitely need a proper 10 to go alongside them
I think we've moved on from picking up aging imports/locals from other clubs. If you look at our recent signing history we've secured mid 20's players with potential and developed that. Chiefy would have been a big part of the most recent signings so I'd expect he and Gill to continue in the same manner.
Well the club do have money, and they have shown they will spend it ever since our place in the A League was guaranteed. We don’t have the sort of money that a couple of the top clubs do but we spend within our means and what we are prepared to spend. Over the last year or so Doloras has been a bitter figure when it comes to our club and everyone will be happier (including her) when she can support an Auckland A League side.
That rant over - the old cliche: In top level sport, it is the top 2 inches is real. Our performances dropped off around the time it was announced Ufuk was leaving and Sail announced the same. Until that point, the clever money from the Aussie pundits was on us being top 2 in the league. Apart from the results, we saw a drop off in the sideline intensity of Talay, we saw Sail lose his composure on the pitch and with some ill-considered aftermatch comments, the little things going wrong on the pitch and Gauchi showed us how a keeper should dominate the 6 yard box and instil extra confidence in the defensive line. Again, talking about mentality, and this is down to the coach, to a large degree, we do not have an attacking mind-set. This is evident in the way we seem to play the back pass as a first resort, rather than looking for the immediate attacking option first. That has become a bad habit and signifies a mixture of laziness, low confidence and adventure. Partly this is because of a lack if one certain type of player, a Devlin, Buzzer MacKay type and I cant help thinking Rufer might be an issue in that regard when he is on. Essentially a player who has attained his level and lacking that last little bit that would take him higher. That “level” description probably applies to Wooten as well but his pedegree suggests he might be better in front of a better keeper and I suspect he doesn’t have the onfield personality of a General himself so needs better support or replacement of him itself.
A change of coach can do wonders and we are still to see what kind of head coach Italiano will be and new signings will be critical.
I would love to see more of the humming Nix that we saw for the bulk of the season and even at times during the Adelaide game, just a few tweaks necessary.
All in all, as a real Nix fan: exciting and interesting times ahead for us, much post-season anticipation from me.

Seriously, at times when I had a good feeling about the team and posted optimistic things, people called me names and told me to fudge off then too. Almost as if... it's not the content of the takes that's the problem. Hmmm.
I do not think anyone here should be encouraged to go and support other clubs, especially non-existent clubs, just because someone else on the forum disagrees with their opinion. Not sure what else the discussion forum is for if not for disagreeing. If I wanted to hear just one kind of acceptable opinions I would have tuned into the North Korean TV news broadcast instead of sitting here, their newsreader is hilarious to listen to even if I do not understand a word of Korean.
