I hope chiefy gets asked about Rojas at the next press conference, since the last time he was asked about him his exit from Colo Colo has been made official and it has been reported that he won't be signed by the Victory.

We have lost two attackers in Waine and Sasse since the start of last season, Old remains injured and rumours of Zawada departing persist, and we haven't signed anyone. Hoping for news of some decent attacking signings soon. 

 Where has it been reported that the Victory are not interested? I must have missed that.

He made it pretty clear the first time he left - Melb was clearly the better option at the time - management, ownership and facilities we obs better. Since then he's left and returned to Melbourne, he's literally just invested in their Women's team. It's clearly the place he sees as home.

I really do hope we sell Zawada for a decent fee (1 million NZD minimum). He is gone at the end of the season no matter what, I'd rather the club took that cash rather than get whatever output Zawada can produce this season.

I go back to my original point, why would we (Nix) want anyone that isnt being chased by other clubs. If Rojas' performance had justified any kind of interest from anywhere then maybe you take a look at him. But, even the clib he ahs been great at isnt interested. That tells me he is either broken, or demanding a wage, fee way above his current value.

What bridges were burnt? He didn't break a contract, he left for a better funded club with better facilities for a young player and probably more money, when his contract expired.
Kosta is the one that burnt bridges by leaving mid contact yet we still brought him back

But literally, Rojas's progress from local football to the Nix was funded by the fans - he got his chance, was injured for the early part of it, given another shot and then just as he hit his straps he shows no loyalty and jumps ship for a bigger club - yes I agree they had better everything back then, but loyalty and paying it back to the people who helped you is massive.

I never expected Rojas to be with us for life, but he literally took all he could from the club/fans and gave us what? nadda, maybe one good month where he received player of the month then he buggered off to Melbourne for better money, facilities, etc - never looked back.

I'm certainlky not trying to say that Melbourne werent the better option for him as far as money, coaching and facilities were concerned - far from it, at the time they were offering a far better prospect than we were. But we're talking about a kid who'd made 20 appearances, after a long term injury - he'd only just started to show what he could do - as brilliant as it may have been. The club that found him and gave him his chance were saying they wanted to continue to develop him and give him game time but he (and his manager - dad) thought he was worth more - and fair cop to them, Victory were offering him  what he wanted and he took it, all good. But from my persepctive that just shows a total lack of respect and gratitude to the club and fans. You say he did what he was contracted to do, sure he didnt break a contract. But he spent a lot of time of contract injured and going through rehab - and to repay the work and effort the club put into him, he leaves for more money. There's nothing wrong with it but I'm not gonna welcome him back with open arms. Not that he has said he wants to come back and the club certainly hasnt said they are interested so it's a moot point.

A week ago I briefly spoke to Domey, who said about the women's visa signings but said there was nothing imminent for the men's. Don't think we'll hear anything for a little while still

He could be thinking that Surman looks assured and ready to play at this level, whilst other positions like the wings for instance might need bolstering.

With Ball and Old under injury clouds there’s been quite a bit of chopping and changing with the forward positions.

In the game vs Olympic, Kosta and Kraev swapped around, Van Hattum got dragged at half time and was made to run for about half an hour. Rudland came on in his place, Supyk was tried up front and then Nguyen played the Aussie cup game.

Sutton also under an injury cloud. 

It’s almost something of a hospital pass to have 3 senior players with a long term conditions like that. Makes the squad balance tricky.

Cant agree with you on this its professional sport and there is no place at all for a young player to be putting respect and gratitude before other concerns when signing a contract. It could also be argued that he was also under used by us. There seems to be this romantic notion that he lite up the field every time he played. Yes on occasions he was flat out brilliant  but that tended to be in patches and not across a whole game or  for multiple games. Would love to see him back at the Nix running to the Zone after scoring.

How did Rudland go when he came on? Thought he was good value in his half hour or so against Peninsula Power in the Australia Cup, although I'm aware of getting too far ahead of myself.

He was good. Did lots of running, defended well (he stayed back during corners). He did lose possession a bit when attacking and his positioning could use a bit of work (Wootton was helping direct him). His interplay was nice as well, linked up with Kosta and Supyk for the goal right at the end.

He’s a lot bigger and stronger looking in person, his profile and play style reminds me a lot more of Waineo than OVH does.

Whilst I love Zwanda, if we get anything over $500k we should jump at it as he will leave on a free at the end of the year.

Wow big call and with no new signings just where are our goals coming from this season. Agree we should make sure we get some money from him if we cant convince him to stay. Dont think i have ever seen a post that seems to so undervalue his contribution last season.

500k is too low. Represents less than 20,000 match tickets sold. He could very possibly make that much money for the Nix by bumping up attendances across the course of a season, not to mention the money the Nix would make if he was difference between getting and not getting a home playoff. He's a goalscorer, there is a premium on those. I think 1 million NZD is the bare minimum we should demand, otherwise we are no better off. 

I dunno what I think! 

I wanna watch him this season l, but I don’t want to watch him and/ or us fail. 

If he goes for enough money we can put the focus on Kraev and the kids and build with an aim of 5th this season and winning or top 3 next season. 

I feel a solid start with perhaps even making a bit of money in Chief’s first season might incentivize more investment in the team in following seasons.

I think our squad right now won't make top 6. So if we lose Zawada there will need to be serious recruitment.
I don't blame the club if they decide to sell Zawada. Be good to see them make some decent money off a transfer.

I think we need to demand higher fees or chase negotiations with other clubs for these imports that we give a lifeline to. We have taken on alot of risk when hiring these guys to try give them the time to shine and command a move back abroad, we need to be compensated fairly. Would be interesting to assess the amount of transfer fees we have received for players vs the transfer values of players we have released for free. 

New Zealand dollar is down against major currencies right now, so $500K is not big bikkies for a decent German or Dutch club.

He'd have to impress Italiano a lot if he were to sign a 20-year-old as our last import slot in a position we weren't planning on.
