Paulo Retre - feels like a very similar level of player to Ugarkovic. Solid, will add great depth to the squad. Good signing. Will hope for more signings like this - hopefully one big name signing as well.

He was great in his first season but hardly anything amazing - you can maybe see future potential there but I'm surprised a Euro club would take a risk on such a young kid who hasn't quite made it at this level yet. I imagine the phoenix will want a fair bit for him since he is on such a long term contract at the moment.
Retre signing for 2y adds a player to the group contracted beyond the end of the coming season which is another step in the right direction. Don't have many who aren't coming off contract at season's end

But there have been plenty of other 19-20 yr olds from the ALM going to Europe or the MLS lately. You just never know who is looking.
Was interesting reading how Saint Etienne found Old. Sounded like it was far more a data matching exercise than traditional human talent scouting. They were looking for a left sided pacey winger with good dribbling skills, and Old's online stats matched what they were looking for using some search engine analysis.

Don't think it'd be worth to sell him now can't see the offer being that much for him right now but maybe after another season or two if he plays well we'll get a fee similar to the ones we've just sold.
