I watched a lot of Oscar this season in the Central League and he wasn't the answer at A League level. Good finisher but not a guy who gets involved in the build up and I think quite a long way off being able to trouble A League defenderscoochiee

If this transfer comes through I reckon:
#1 Our midfield is now fudgeing stacked. Would have to be in the conversation for the best midfield in the competition next year.
#2 We need an import striker. I don't really even mind if they're tall or not but they must be astute at finishing - that is really it. Provided Chief gets our midfield working it will create a lot of chances. We need someone there good enough to finish most of the chances.
#3 If we sign a good striker I am going to get very hype for this season. I will have fairly high expectations.
Wonder how Oscar Faulds is going with his trial in Denmark? The mere fact that the Nix gave him that trial opportunity, says yes they want to bring in a another striker, and likely a tall one.
So yes I think you already have good reason to be getting at least a little excited, without yet knowing who that new no 9 will be.

Doesn't look good for Fergus Gillion's chances. Plenty of midfielders now signed, and I think he's now the oldest in the Weenix team (20 next January), so if he doesn't get a contract now, is likely leaving the club??
Lachlan Candy and Anaru Cassidy other Weenix midfielders who seem set to miss out, on this ALM season at least. Some of them may get interest from AFC. Gillion with the family connection with older brother Liam up there.
Sheridan, Payne, LK-H & Sutton probably enough FB cover. Al Taay can also go to RB. So seems Tze-Xuan Loke will miss out this season.

Walker isn't actually far off a deal either from what I've been told though, so I guess we'll just wait for that announcement to drop.
No, Gareth said in an interview we were going to play total football. They made Ricky change from fairly direct football to something much more dynamic mid season which neither he or the squad was ready for. There was a big collapse including a 7-1 loss
