From the view we got given i reckon red every day. If it was one of ours fouled we would be screaming for a red. Question needs to be asked where is the view of Armiento being floored holding his jaw thats what kicked it off.
I agree and Armiento didn't even debate the red himself so would have been clear from his POV that he stuffed up.
Issue with football globally is that players hold their jaw/head with no head contact so much unfortunately so it maybe overlooked

yeah i fail to see how the roar player who pushed Armiento didn't get a card.
No one would ever know the formation from how the team is listed.
It’s always guess work.
But yep 4,5,1 with Piper crashing into the box could be the go.
shows what you know. 5-3-2 all day! Piper and Armiento wingbacks, traditional Italiano.
Grea start form the lads, barring the red card which was red all day but a by product of the physicality brought by Roar, could have been a couple of more yellows shown for that melee.
Eze scoring in typical Eze style, more of that please. McCarron looking solid in goal too, making some good saves and working well with his CB's.
Frustrating to only see one angle of a red card incident but to be fair from the one angle we saw it looks orange at least
ref is in an excellent position and was going for his back pocket red slightly before the mass confrontation started.
Correct. Armiento lunged in studs first into the opponents leg with force. A red card offence. The resulting melee is on the players concerned and their lack of restraint and the officiating team rightly got together to assess the relevant cautions.
Maybe my guess is wrong but Eze got a yellow for his part in the push and shove right? I do remember a Roar player also got a yellow (sorry don't remember who)
Pretty sure he had his hand in the side pocket (look closely) . Not sure where your view on field red decision comes from (ref may have changed his view as a result of melee, but that was not clear at time of infraction).
The quality of this game is really low, maybe it's the heat. But the roar are just as bad as us (minus the studs up tackle for no real reason)
Roar as bad as us, they are second on the table having lost just three games and conceeding only 7 goals. If that is bad then I want more of that please. But in all seriousness, recent results simpoly show that any one can beat any one in this league, Jets have beaten AFC twice and they are only one win better than us!
Putting the goal and red aside - really poor half of football from both teams. How are they allowed to play at 4pm in Queensland in January?
Maybe whoever brews XXXX sponsors the start time? I always thought it was a bit of a Queensland stereotype (like the way hardly any Americans actually drink Bud), but they’re doing a roaring trade in this heat.
Doesn’t help the players much, although looking at how Roar are approaching the game maybe it has…

Correct, their keeper got one too, not sure why Eze over the likes of Roa Conchie or Hughes though
its' entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. Roar are very physical which can lead to retaliatory defence from the opposition which can lead to all in fights. You either dont engange and hopre the refs help - which in this league the dont, or you match it and cards are shown.

One each. The ones who came from distance to inflame things.

A weak referee will give a yellow card to each team. The easiest person to give it to is a goalkeeper because you’ll almost certainly not have to give a second yellow. Why Eze? A cynical person might look at how many incidents he’s been in and how many fouls he has been awarded in this game and say ‘any excuse’

Eze was literally one of the closest players to the initial incident...

The combination of Roar players being incredibly thuggish and also dramatically rolling around as though they are in unbelievable pain whenever they are touched is just so annoying

my bad - I thought he was delayed coming in, but did make a decent shove. (I think yellows here for the mass confrontation are fine. ) Keeper comes a long way which is why he was pinged.

Same with Auckland. Elliot has got away with getting beaten all ends up and grabbing the player because the opponent doesn’t go down two or three times. Verstaete got a yellow for Eze after he fouled him after rolling around and clutching various body parts. It’s an annoying but not uncommon tactic. Bully/victims.
