mr "society is so boring, we need to play and behave like knobs".

glad our coach isn't one of the angry a-league (angry league) coaching mob

So pleased for the keeper.
Well done son, he is strong in the air and has good handling.

James was legendary too.

And special word for the unselfish composure of LBS.

Shame that TV and greed has to ruin the presentation with their shark adverts. I won't be able to continue watching the way they ruin it all now.

Some great saves from McCarron, a huge rebound from last week. Some good saves to keep us in the game.

Eze class again. James in CB put in another huge shift. Nagasawa a solid game too. Rufer turned it on in the second half too. Huge result

Honestly great game I thought. I mean okay I would've liked if Carlo didn't get the red so we can see him next weekend. Anyways I am happy with that I will take it.

Eze - get him an extension now, with or without Italiano he is worth it!
McCarron - brilliant comeback performance
Piper - mr fixit - striker, wingback he does it all!

Great performance - now we just need to keep doing that, week in week out.
On a side note how good is it to see Salas playing and playing so well, he was easily the best Roar player on the field!

Queenslander 3x a year.

With those people these wins mean nothing. Last week and the week before was all the Chief's fault. He has also lost the dressing room and is a bad guy too.

This week is just dumb luck and has nothing to do with the players or coach.

Really what we need to focus on is how do we replicate this mentality week in week out. We could beat anyone in the A-League the way we played today.

I do not see a broken team this season when compared to last. I see a team which is exciting to watch and will fight for each other. We just need a good run of form is all.

Totally unexpected. Great heart and a little luck to boot.

On the red, how was it upgraded... the ref never went to the screen to view a replay and we heard no coms. Can't be for the afters as he hit the ground straight away.

100% this.

Great attitude from the Nix after going a man-down. Could easily have imploded but they came together. Great run from LBS at the end, also very unselfish but I wondered if he didn’t want to take the shot. Either way great support and finish from Retre.

And we need to. Despite that win, we’re still 8th and potentially 9th once the missed games are made up.

The next 4 would be nice to win!
We’ve had a couple of battling wins, but we’re far from table topping yet.

The ref was going to his back pocket immediately before everyone was all in. Didn't even go to VAR.

Good call, he was right there, but as a curious cat I would loved to have seen another angle. No complaints from Armiento either which is more or less a bit of a giveaway.

If im reading it right I saw him go for his pocket straight away but held off once the melee started. I think he was going to pull a red straight away but then waited to confer with his other officials. Good refereeing in my opinion and Armiento did not have too many arguments about it. Think the ref got it right.

Not sure how Eze got a card, if there was anything it was off camera.

Absolutely, but I just hate the mentality of one week we say sack the coach. Next week we dont praise him for a win??

A lot of people are saying only at this club would we not sack a coach for doing this badly. Yet if you look at the Premier league Nottingham forest have had 3 different coaches this season and are playing woefully - sacking coaches is not always the best option.

Look at Ruben Amorim with Manchester United. He had a horrible first year as a coach - he was i think one of the top 3 worst coaches of any coach in the Prem for their first year. Yet he did not get the sack and seems to have turned it around as of this moment.

Can't resist pointing out that Amorim managed a point at home this week against the worst PL side ever. It's a great result today for chiefy and the team. We need more of these at home.

Heading into this one it felt like we were waning just a little bit - Bits and pieces performances, feeling like we're about to turn a corner and cobbling a few wins together, but then also copping a few too many hobblings along the way which has really hurt us so far this season.

After 38 minutes I thought we were headed that way again. Our own worst enemy so to speak...

But not this evening!

True heart and commitment from everyone on the park today, hats off to all - We fair pasted Brisbane this evening and its a result everyone around the club should be proud of. That is the benchmark performance of the season, and we need to underline today as the mark of where we need to be - Consistently!

It's not always pretty, but by god, give me that level of effort and determination every day of the week and we'll bloody well be a far happier lot!

Best game in a Phoenix shirt from Manjrekar. Rufer, Nagasawa, Eze and Piper were all excellent too, but it was good to see everyone was on shift today. Enjoy it lads (and now hopefully the lasses too).

*Edit
I'll take back my reservations on McCarron too. Didn't have too much to do overall, but was solid. Still a bit nervy, and I'll take Oluwayemi back between the sticks next week please, but that is a great confidence boost for the kid after a bit of a horror show in Melbourne.

Plenty of examples of both ways working. Everton are happier than West Ham. But I bet Brisbane are still happy with Valkanis this year. And Celtic can’t be happy with their recent run of managers.

I have to admit I thought Chief had done his chips last week.

So many heroes from this game, hope the crowds come and we get another win next week at home.

Not sure how Eze got a card, if there was anything it was off camera.

He reached for his left (shorts) pocket at the time of the foul (pre fracas). At the time I assumed that was a yellow as reds are often back pocket or top pocket. As it turned out, he produced the red from his left shorts pocket, so likely he was going straight to red. So fair call. I have yet to get a good view of the challenge, so can't comment on it.
However, I don't think the validity of the card should be judged on the level of histrionics/protest of the player. That only encourages them.

I know, I know, its serious!
