Random question, what was the deal with the camera crew filming the Fever? Can we expect to see some of your smiling faces in a documentary or something?

God damn this forum being down.
Anyways.
Despite the result today, there are more than a few people on here who are in need of rescinding/eating their words re: Corban Piper.
That is all.

I still have no idea what position he is supposed to play
I'm not going to sit here and pretend like he's the best thing out since sliced bread, because there are areas that he can improve on for sure, and that will come with experience (passing decisions/vision/awareness etc).
But you're right about the effort. He won't shy away from the battle - A lesson that a few others in yellow should take note of.
He's a midfielder - Played as a #6 & #8 for Wexford in Ireland and more advanced as an #8 + even a #10 at Birkenhead in the NL before he signed with us. The fact that he's had more touches (11) in the opposition box this season than our other midfield options of Retre (1), Nagasawa (6), and Rufer (8) despite playing only a fraction of the minutes, well, that should tell you about the intent he has to get forward and make himself a threat - Hell he's not even that far behind Sutton (12), Ishige (14) & Payne (19) either! Being an aerial presence obviously helps him on this front.
His 'versatility' is not helping him settle though, and it's kind of where I get off-board with Chiefy having all these players that 'can play multiple positions' - Perhaps this is something to be considered down the line, or for the more experienced players, rather than someone who's fresh to the setup...
If he is going to get a good run of games then I would be more than happy to see him in the lineup in the exact same position as he was on Saturday (Right Midfield) when we suit up to take on Sydney on Wednesday.
I've been calling Piper a donkey for aages, and had to eat my words at the game. He was easily the bets player on the park for us - on intent alone! The fact that he's not afraid to use his body, get physical and make his presence felt is a thing I enjoy. Something Nagasawa and Ishige need to learn - Sakai has this figured out but as was pointed out to me on Saturday he has spent time in Europe where our two Japanese players have not. For mine, Ball is a similar style player to Piper, gets involved in everything never gives up and makes defenders take action rather than allowing them to wait for a mistake or for a back pass.
Queenslander 3x a year.
Nagasawa played in Germany, though only for a season.
Yeah like 10 years ago. Compared to Sakai who spent almost a decade in Europe (France and Germany).

Sure.
I was just correcting the bit where you said it didn't happen.
Valley FC til I die?
Crowd was 7,133 I think. Which is better than I had expected. Disappointing result. Can't think of anything else to add on top of what has already been said.
Surprised by that, probably boosted by Kids go free? I'm concerned the next game against an in-form Sydney might see the attendance drop to the 5000's...
