Hi all,

Couple of things to get the match thread kick off.

The Bus. It is all go! There are a handful of seats left. $50 gets to a return seat on The Waine Train Bus Replacement. We are throwing in a few drinks to get you started but it is also BYO. Just treat our amazing driver, Barbara, and the bus with respect. Grab a ticket at https://shop.yellowfever.co.nz/products/home-away-day-to-palmy-bus-ticket

The Bar. Brew Union Brewing Co (41 Broadway Avenue) has jumped on board and are offering $15 pizzas for any punters wearing Phoenix merchandise. Join as there before and after the game.

Stock Cars kicking off for the evening right now. Thankfully it's not wet, hopefully none of them end up doing damage to the pitch.

Has anyone bought tickets through Flicket website? Do they get emailed to you after paying? There was no option to choose.

This will be a very tough game. I've watched a couple of their games lately. Certainly, people who rule out the Glory have not been watching their games. We can't afford to give their midfielders time in the middle of the park, especially Amini playing out diagonal to their wingbacks. Taggart will be a handful for Payne and Laws. They often double press as well.

I probably won't know if I can make the trip until later in the week. Does anyone know if I can get tickets at the stadium on the day before gates open?

Clearly they noticed our secret of winning against Sydney and Brisbane is to have key players missing due to suspension.

I would be very surprised if you can't buy at the gate.

My plan, if I can go, is to get there a couple of hours early, buy paper tickets, get some food and go watch the game. Hope that's feasible.

Two more questions, is Energy Trust Arena the same as the old Ring of Dirt or is it a different venue?
What's parking like in the vicinity?

Only three of their 17 points away from home though. Their home ground Macedonia Park has a very uneven surface but they have worked out how to take full advantage of it. Ironically they might feel quite at home if it's also a paddock in Palmy.

Yes it is. Was previously FMG Stadium. Same place. If you're getting there early, you should find free parking fairly close to the stadium but UB40 concert is on at the same venue at the same time. Try Pascal Street. There should be plenty of parking in the surrounding streets if you don't mind walking.

This is taking the Long Distance Derby to the next level. Making Perth travel all the way to Palmy North. The Glory will need about 3 days to get home. I'm a Perth boy, born and bred but love my Nix, so disappointed not to get back to Aotearoa for this one. Enjoy Brew Union everyone. Have been back this side of the Ditch (Brisbane) for six months now and I am missing my NZ ales immensely. 2-1 win for the Nix. Zawada and Kosta to score....

Yes I agree the the Glory are one of the most inform teams right now, but also they are the worst team away from home in the whole competition, with most of their recent games at home

It's palmy, just don't keep any crack visible in the car and you'll be fine.

If you believe John Cleese, they are more likely to jump in & hide in your boot, to get a free ride out of there.

So uhhh bad news. Clayton Lewis is apparently having an MRI so doubt he'll be good for this weekend, hope he won't be out much longer. But more importantly Zawada is injured and unavailabe... he has a busted quad apparently. Heard this on the football fix on sky :(

Is Pennington out too? Luckily we'll still have Rufer and Ugarkovic. And then I'm guessing Ball and Kosta up top and then Kraev, Old/Sasse behind them. The depth we have is gonna help us a lot more than previous seasons.

How do you get 30 Palmy people into a Mini?
Tell them it's going to Auckland.

Absolutely gutted for Zawada, hope his injury doesn't keep him out for too long, same for Lewis. Zawada could've had the chance to be the next Nix player to score in 4 consecutive games and join Kraev, Hemed, Waine, Davila, Krishna, and Brockie.

If Taggart and Khelifi are out for this game would cancel out Lewis and Zawanda being out as Taggart looks like the biggest goal threat and Khelifi has been their most creative and dangerous player.

Perth like to play quite expansively from what I have seen. If it is a fast paced and open game, it might suit Sasse quite nicely.

Could be quite important if we are missing Zawada... just as he was really starting to kick into gear. Feeling so gutted since hearing about it ;(

Yeach im hoping what i heard on football fix was maybe just a bit of a half baked rumor. Maybe it was just a niggle he had in training and he is fine for the game. There's been no other news about it anyway... I have my fingers crossed :)
