Love how you're disingenuously suggesting that anyone who complains isn't really a real fan. My man if someone takes the time to go to games, follow the league and complain on fan forums they are absolutely a true fan, regardless of whether or not you like what they have to say. Don't pull the true Scotsman fallacy.
Are some of the comments needlessly negative? Maybe, but they're entitled to that opinion. It'd be a pretty dead forum if no one complained.
Why is pax so low. 5.30 seems like a good time on a sat arvo. Did the draw put people off is the weather bad?
Last match was fairly dull, most of the people who enjoyed it are us nailed on supporters. It's an expensive day out and if you weren't super entertained last time you might not show for a second match.
Plus it's been less than a week since our last home match.
no idea , could just be the cost of going twice in one week. Plenty of nix shirts at akl airport this morning coming for the game And the fact the game was not the most entertaining for the neutral last game, families and kids wanna see goals. Me personally though i enjoyed itNommag

If the Nix had won 3-0 or even got a last minute winner in the midst of a late game surge then I'm sure many of those who went Tuesday would have attended today. The drab 0-0 is easily the biggest reason for the dropoff. Just bad luck it happened to be a game between a depleted Nix side against a really strong opposition on Tuesday. If only it had been WU on Waitangi and the Mariners today... then again the Nix would have probably lost 3-0 like they did against the Jets

"Fairly dull", lol. It was beyond dire. If I wasn't season ticket holder,i wouldn't ho again after that dross.
I'm a foundation member so think I qualify as a purist,Ive not missed a game when I've been in the country.
Club cricket is on today, as well as other sports. There are no trains on kapiti line.
I'm fully prepared to have a moan later if the Phoenix don't wear yellow or serve up more of the negative rubbish they did on Tuesday.
I'm fully prepared to praise them if they play well too!

And yet, as has been pointed out many times, playing this style of footy has us at the top of the league. Winning the league is way more important than scoring an extra goal or two in one game. It's a long term thing rather than the apparent need you have for two or more goals to be scored each game. Football just isnt like that. If you need high scoring events then go watch super rugby or cricket or any other sport than has points accumulating in more than 1.
Is passing the ball backwards forbidden at all times? When there are no options forward should they just kick it forward anyway? Passing sideways and backwards is a fairly common way of trying to break down a defence. This is how the game is played now at the top level.
Prof is right. If we had gone out to attack Mariners we probably would have lost the game due to their counter attack threat being greater than ours Instead we took a point, and if they add up to us getting home finals great. Whats 1 or 2 10k crowds if all these grind results add up to us in home finals with 20-30k? Grind results are apart of football, and we finally seem to be beating the grind.

plus there are no trains running on any line into wellington this weekend. Cheers Metlink!
I've no issue with how the Nix have set up/been performing, I'm just lamenting that there have been 4 games at Sky Stadium since the win against Brisbane in early November and the Nix have only won 1 of those, with the rest being pretty unpleasant watches for the casuals (even the win was fairly dull until it exploded into life at the death). Such a shame that the Nix's general performance this season isn't translating into bigger crowds as a result.

I'd say bus replacements across all lines is a decent factor. and its been happening on weekends constantly in recent times (at least on the kapiti line) so I'd say that is a factor in crowd numbers in general. trains were running (albeit a pathetic number of carriages, but people didn't know that going in) on tuesday and we got a good crowd

hey mate, I put it to you that our last 4 home games have not been particularly representative of our season as a whole, but because they've fallen the way they have, they've had a negative effect on crowds. So the problem is not the way they're playing, just bad luck that the most boring performances have all been the last 4 home games
Edit: and this is in part due to the fact that 3 of these 4 were against top teams in good form, and we had a depleted squad for one of themnufc_nz

Fudge all this bemoaning you think we'd be wooden spooning. I'd rather see us win an ugly title than lose beautifully. And some of you are acting like we've been playing ugly football all season which is just obviously not the case. If this is us on "poor form" then I'm all fudgeing for it cuz we're still clinching results.

Yep that does turn people away!
Also waitangi day at the stadium was one of the hottest days ive watched live sport there ever. Normally its windy like today 😄
3-1 win to us. Western arent as bad as the table says. But at home we should have way too much for them.

When did they last get 12 thousand to a game in Welly? Come on. That’s a huge crowd for the Nix at home. Outside anomalies- end of COVID etc etc that’s a phenomenal regular season crowd. Most of those guys follow the team, watch the tele and understand the situation. The casuals didn’t come back after whacking day.
On a regular Saturday there’s always weddings/kids sport/family commitments/lawn and hedge/etc etc…we don’t know why people don’t turn up, but it’s not just goals and expansive football.

Fire up !
I do remember we spent a whole unsuccessful season trying to get 10k through the gates
