Good news on Zawada. Some possible late impact if we need it.
Hopefully Salas doesn't go all Sasse on us and get himself sent off on debut. Got nothing to base it on but my guess is the red and yellow card threshold might be lower here than in Central America.
With Sutton out, LK-H will need to play the full 90 mins. That might be some consideration. I see a back 5 with OVH starting, sort of worked against the Roar. Chiefy will be hoping Zawada & Old make more of an impact, than in that game.
You'd think would make more sense to introduce Salas to the ALM off the bench.
Only thing I can think of is if Hughes is on and they do a back five? and then maybe Salas does play 90? or hasn't Al-Taay played rb? Also I know hasn't had alot of minutes but Sheridan is a rb right?
They have an overload of quality midfielders in Davilla, Hollman, Baccaus, Drew, Bernardo and Lewis, with not alot of strikers... Germain and Rose.... Maybe we need numbers in midfield rather than in the backline ?
No wonder Zawada is in, since the game date (top of the page) is "Sun 18th Dec". He should recover 100% till then, and be here for the next ALM season....
Zawada IN!! Payne out… IMG_6315.jpeg300.4 KBSalas could be in for a start at RB on his debut

Apparently not. According to Voreman. Salas Zawada Pennington and now Kraev will only feature off the bench. Kraev the latest with an injury niggle and unlikely to feature at all.

So could be a starting lineup like this? Paulsen OVH - Hughes - Surman - Wootton - LKH Rufer - Al-Taay Kosta - Ball - Old
This is going to be tough.
Tough opening 60ish minutes I think. But with guys like Zawada, Kraev and Salas off the bench and the fact Macarthur played in Asia this week I think if we can keep it at 0-0 until that point we should get some late on
I can already see what the thread is going to look like after kick off. There will be loads off "this is so boring" comments as we hold the ball and to score from one or two well place attacks.

Happens on Twitter as well, casual fans complain that slow football gets you nowhere and you have to attack to win games meanwhile we're five points clear at the top...

But the thread will be buzzing during those one or two goals.
We're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league.

IIRC, MacArthur played their cup fixture midweek at home, but correct me if I am wrong.

Injury play-acting is certainly not tolerated like it is in the Americas. Hopefully he doesn't do any of that BS.
But I suspect we will likely see Hughes instead of Conchie and a back 5.
I've yet to see Conchie show anything of worth yet. Has been quite invisible in the games he's played so far. Maybe better playing Al-Taay in the mids.
Not overly hopeful about this game with so many key players out/never scoring.
There is still something wrong with our strength/conditioning if we have so many of our top players falling to bits at once in the business end of the season. Seems to happen every year, and not to other clubs.
conchie hasn't shown much I agree, but he hasn't looked actively bad, and it's more about keeping a 4-3-3 shape for me with the players we have available than anything else that has me wanting that lineupMarto

Keeping in mind those unable to start, I'd like to see a lineup of:

If both Davila and Bonevacia are playing, with Lewis lurking as well, then Kurto might have a quiet day (or at least quiet first 60 minutes).
Bonevacia? Didn’t he sign for the Victory?
Yes, I stand corrected. Further proof of the untold damage that daily work is doing to my footballing brain. Man can't pay proper attention to what's important.

Not for play acting, for being overly physical in tackles. Sasse got a straight red on debut for going studs up into an Adelaide player. I well remember his slightly tragicomic reaction of "What?! You get a red card for that over here?".
So unless my sky sport guide is wrong or it is just wrong as a whole and maybe get changed tomorrow? They are showing the games at two different times despite them both kicking off at 7pm it looks like the men on sky sport 7 kick off 7. But the women it is saying kick off at 8pm on sky sport 9? Could someone go onto their sky sport guide and have a look in case I am wrong?
