The announcement is likely to include Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and other foreign nationals travelling from Australia. So I am remaining hopeful Andrew V.

Equal points with Sydney City and 5 games in hand on them. Never thought I'd ever see that happening.

h'mmm . . . . and who replaces Corica when he gets sacked? . . . answers on a postcard
Depends if Arnie manages to qualify for the world cup or not.

Due to a lack of available security personnel because of the late confirmation of the venue the match will be closed to fans, other than family and friends.

Can we also close it to seven of their starting players?

I mean, that only seems fair.  Right?

If we beat city this weekend will make it interesting of being able to finish 2nd. We'll be on 30 points and they'd be on 40 points with 4 games in hand to them. And then they're remaining 4 games they have to play Melbourne Victory, Sydney, Perth away and us again. So can definitely see them dropping more points.
Obviously, this is providing we can keep winning games but definitely not out of the possibility of us finishing in the top 2

Melb City will have 3 Socceroos (Metcalfe, Tilio & Leckie) returning from Saudi, plus a recently married Maclaren. So that will help the Nix a little.

Google tells me PointsBet Stadium, is also Shark Park (Cronulla Sharks).

What's the chances Payne will play? I'm guessing he'll be back early tomo morning but with playing a few games in a short time and jet lag i'd doubt he'd start.

i reckon he'll want to play - if he's fit and rested (as much as you can be) then he'll be on the field.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Might slip into the less demanding CB position for this one?? Surman back to the bench and Fenton stays RB.

Or Payne goes onto the bench to cover both positions, then starts at RB against CCM away, which is only 3 days later. So giving Fenton a spell, given Louie will have played 3 games as a RB in a week by Gosford.

It could be the demanding up & down wing back roles that the Nix need to interchange the most over this congested schedule. Payne, Fenton, Elliott, Mcgarry plus Sutton swapping in & out. Laws coming into midfield when Sutton goes to LB. Plus of course maybe a rumoured Kevin Kalua??

Arrives back tonight. Uffie is back but one of the bench player  from the Roar game is out.

FFS, just can't get a break at the mo. Suppose of those, hope it's not Piscopo

Sounds bad to say this but I hope its either Mogg, Boz or Ott

Unlikely to be Bozinovski, as he's already had Covid. Hopefully not Piscopo. Good news re Lewis. In a moon boot I presume.

Talay did not disclose who the affected player was, but Alex Paulsen, Callan Elliot, Matthew Bozinovski, Kurtis Mogg, Jackson Manuel, Reno Piscopo, and George Ott were the substitutes at Moreton Daily Stadium.

The loss of a player comes with the Phoenix’s injury list still lengthy and defender Tim Payne only set to arrive in Sydney on Friday night, after winning the Oceania World Cup qualifying tournament with the All Whites.

There was good news in Friday’s pre-mach press conference, with Talay confirming Clayton Lewis could be back this season if they make the top six and qualify for the finals series.

Surgery ultimately wasn’t required after he tore ligaments in his left ankle against the Glory last weekend, and he is hoping to return in six weeks’ time.

So the QF will be played around 14/15th of May. So he'd likely be back around 4/5th given the 6 weeks is from when the injury happened not now. So has a chance of making it for the playoffs may be more realistically the semis tho.

Sandoval also touch and go.

Just tell us it’s not Piscopo.

Realistically there could potentially be more to come. We’d be very lucky if our coach and a player get it and no one else does.

We’re needing something from Sandoval too. Despite Old’s heroics. We’re hanging in there.

Still no injury replacement signings? Any insta hints?

If Sandaval is touch and go. I'd say rest him. 2 games a week coming up for next while. We just have to rotate. And do our best.

And CCM on Tuesday is realistically more winnable than Melb City, at this stage. I'm sure Talay will be factoring in, what are the more winnable games over this congested schedule. Got to play it a bit smart.

If Lewis could be back by the finals... that means his All Whites squad hope for Costa Rica could rest on the Nix making the finals, as it seems unlikely Hay would pick him if he hasn't played in a long time after a serious injury.

I reckon thats what Talay will focus on lets first secure our finals place then worry about getting further up the ladder once thats achieved. Think 1st and 2nd are out of reach at this stage we require other results to go our way whereas 3rd we can secure that with our own results.

Melbournes attack looks strong but their defense and midfield seem to be missing a few key players so hopefully, we can exploit that could be a high-scoring game.

Flat start and we're made to pay from a City corner. Looked like an oggie from Surman off the back of his head.

Tough ask getting points off City tonight. Not really worried about losing as long as the scoreline doesn't blow out and mess up our goal diff again. There are some definitely winnable games coming up to secure a top 6 place, even with a weakened team.
