No Rufer, Ball, Sail, Waine, Old, or Lewis. Haven't seen an update on Piscopo but can't see him starting.
Good luck picking the starting XI
Paulsen
Fenton Payne Wootton Sutton
Laws Pennington
Sandoval ????
Hooper Sotirio

Though Surman might get a run at CB and Fenton pushes into the midfield with Sandoval

Do we know how close McGarry is to a return after surgery?

Probably similar boat to Piscopo in terms of immediate availability, but he or Sutton could be options in the left sided 10 role if he's back before Reno is. Would prefer either of them to Fenton.

I really would like to see McGarry play there as I think it suits him a lot better than LB but if he's still not fit Sutton would be a good option too.

Surman coming in at CB & Payne staying at RB feels like it causes the least disruption in front of Paulsen, so that is what I'm thinking Uffie will do.

If Piscopo isn't fit, McGarry would be my first choice replacement but I have nfi how fit he is after his surgery. Fenton has been subbed on in the wide roles a couple times, so not totally out of practice up there.

Is Surman capable of playing 90 mins? Seen him cramp up at least once. So if Payne is RB, he will move over to CB later on, if Surman  comes off?

Then if Fenton is up front, you bring on Elliott as RB sub? But Elliott seems out of favour.

Also if Payne is skipper is he better to be CB seeing the game in front of him, rather than gut busting up and down the touchline??

All a bit of a selection jigsaw for Uffie. And so so different to last 8 odd games when has been a very settled 11-12 regular starters.

We can't afford to give Penha the amount of time and space like we did in the last game. He's already proven that he can make something out of nothing.

I'm pretty worried about the result in this game after our last outing against the Jets. Am not looking forward to watching if we are going to sit back and let them pass it around just outside the goal box like last time. We'll get thumped this time if we do that. Hope Uffie has an alternate plan to counter there high pressing game.

Got a feeling if jets can find their shooting boots this time, and create as many chances like last few times we played them, it might get ugly.

Underdog time. Big Phoenix performance needed. Be stoked if we’ve got one in us.

Surely Elliot has to play some minutes somewhere? Possibly further forward?

Please don't do the "hold up a shirt of a injured player" thing

I hope they all wear "Rufer 14" jerseys as they walk onto the field.
Then they should all sing the chorus of "Sweet Caroline" which could be Rufer's favourite song

he's not dead, just injured, and will be back.

Nothing Talay has done suggests he has what Talay wants from his wide 10s. Tried there once very briefly. Next seen at FB.
Though maybe needs must and maybe  a chance for either McGarry or Elliot to put in a claim to a different position?

Sutton to get the wide AM role it seems. McGarry & Surman to come in. Plus as expected Pennington and Paulsen.

Payne to stay at RB, and Laws to push forward into the midfield. Big ask for McGarry who hasn't played for months, and straight into starting LB role. Fenton to cover LB & RB spots.

This is going to be a bloody tough game with so many out. McGarry at LB, particularly an unfit one, will be hard to watch.

Surely he’ll still play Sutton at fullback, McGarry has come on a few times wide and is a better attacking threat than defensive block.

I also worry about Hooper, he doesn’t look at all like he’ll get through 90, so there could well finally be an A League debut for Ott. That’s the trouble with never rotating the lineup, you get 12/13 guys who are matchfit, and the rest aren’t up to speed, so when you need them they aren’t ready.

Payne/Surman at CB was a toss up but I really think Uffie has erred here with McGarry at LB. At least if things go bad, they can just swap over.

In theory not a bad line up at all. Hopefully the boys have some juice in the tank. If McGarry can keep the brain fades at bay we could very well be on! COYN!

Sutton and McGarry might swap in and out, as one makes the over lapping run, the other drops in, both could interchange quite well.

Three minutes in and Laws is on a yellow already. This game is going to be a difficult watch.

silly tackle, deserved the yellow, could have been red after the "push" on the ref, not sure how Boumal wasnt yellow carded for his elbow to Gael. a few minutes later.

your clearly not seeing how well we are hitting on the counter. Newcastle's attack is slow and easily hit on the break.

That seems to be our go-to tactic. Hope we are on form with it tonight.

Attack a bit out of sync as you might expect.
Sandoval needs to find something in his bag because otherwise he’s giving a lot away.
This Jets diving annoying me.
