Rested due to 'Biological rhythm'. Like most 35 year old fathers, 11.45pm is well past his bed time.

Lol, I include myself in that. I'll watch the replay in the morning

Cola off the bench should be awesome.  He would have been awesome for the last 20 last weekend.

Exactly. When asked today where Ball might be used in future, Italiano mentioned DM as a possibility. Presumably as a sub.

Uffie should’ve turned him into a CM in his last season, too late to be effective now. I’m not against it as an option off the bench though.

At times last season, Chiefy was playing Kraev as a midfielder with Ball further forward. I thought this was insane and that he should have been pushing Ball back to midfield instead if he had to use either back there. It is bizarre that he would only try it now when the writing has been on the wall for a long time that he didn't have the pace anymore to be an attacker.

If people want a reason to not get to cocky just take a look at last nites result. More proof anything can happen. COYN

Chiefy can't dress it up. Bally is not injured, he's not travelling as a squad member to Perth. He's playing with the reserve/youth. I would be surprised if he really has a future as a player with the Nix. He'll be an amazing coach though and I think that that's the direction he's moving in.

Perth play a high line when they attack and we are at out best with counter-attacks.

So....

Keeping the back 5 but should be more dynamic with Sutts returning at LWB.

Strength, experience, unselfishness, one of the veterans the youngsters can look up to.

Gonna need some end to end stuff from both teams. A ball stuck in the midfield nil all slog won't be very conducive to fighting these heavy and sagging midnight eyelids.

Playing out from the back needs improvement. Looks like they still don't have a plan.

Is it the proximity to Sail that Payne can’t play out from the back now??

Something that has me a little worried, cause we weren't great at this last season either, is our struggle to play through a press particularly accurately. Hope there's a plan to remedy that cause the big clubs might punish it a bit

Don’t like how nobody congratulated Olu on that save.

Great to see Oluwayemi alert, onto it and not hindered by any jet lag there. That long shot came out of nowhere but one that definitelly could have snuck through if a keeper had been caught napping.

Us: faf around with the ball for ages along out backline and fail to get the ball into the box and get bugger all shots.

Them: move the ball foward with pace and try to catch out defense napping. Gets more shots than us.

Can't score goals if we never shoot. Can we please attack with some pace from time to time?

Ishige isn’t enjoying Perth yet.

But worried our defense is a little quiet. Paulsen seemed to talk a lot? Or am I misremembering?

It doesn't just have to be Kosta shooting as goal. the others are allowed to try it too. Quite frustrating watching tippy tappy across the back line and midfield. Going forward would really help.

He was a talker from the get go. Remember that cup match? He was very vocal

Apart from the penchant for penalty saves the strongest impression I had from Paulsen's early outings was he wasn't afraid to give senior defenders nearly twice his age the whats what if he thought they were slippin'.
