Wellington Phoenix will be without midfielder Fin Conchie for 3-4 matches after he suffered a hamstring injury in training. David Ball also in doubt for Perth Glory due a hip complaint.
Listening to what Chiefy is saying it would seem as they are hoping to come out hard and aggressive so maybe we score 1 or 2 early and hope we can hold out for the win? Still early days so not conceeding and not losing would be acceptable. Especially with injury issues. But, having said that, it is Sails return and I'd like to give him a "decent" welcome home with a solid 3-0 defeat.
I hope we see a lot more adventure going forward being a home game. Park the bus type defending in away games and in the heat is acceptable to grind out results like last week. I expect we will see a little more of Chiefys game plan this week. In his presser he talked about it all being about the fans. So lets see it.

Definitely hoping for an improved attacking display and I think the weather will help a lot with that but I also won’t blame Italiano if the attacking still isn’t great as it seems our attacking options are gonna be super thin with the injuries we have on an already thin attacking unit.

I'm liking the talk around this one. I'm hoping for a 10k crowd but wouldn't be entirely disappointed if 8500-9000 turn up.
Chiefy is sounding like he wants us to be more positive from the outset, so hopefully this means some enterprising exchanges/goals early on to help get us up and running for the season.
I'm not in Wellington and haven't seen any PAX figures or anything so huge grain of salt, but even an 8500 turnout seems a little optimistic to me given last season's crowds

Not in Wellington either, but I am forever the optimist. 😇
Perfect day for it, Breezey with an edge so not stinking hot. Sun out, Saturday night. The only crap thing is I'd rather be there than at work today. Still bills to pay.
Anyway all the very best Nix and to all you fans whom do turn up. Will be hoping for a big score. We need Oli to drop another clanger like he did in his last game.
Still absolutely having kittens playing out from the back early in this one. Was a nice counter earlier that was turned behind for the corner, but as yet, I'm still to see this more adventurous Nix play that was being bandied about pre match.
