Geez the midfield was stopping the balls into the box until the 91st minute when they started getting the ball in and winning it.
I feel like we’re a fundamentally different team to what we were in the first few games. And we’re missing Sotirio, Waine and Reno. All better than Kosta, as it stands, to bring on to threaten on the counter.
That second half was a hard watch. Poor passing, giving Sydney more than enough chances. The usual back 5 after 70th and hang on desperately for the win. Does my head in. We get a one goal lead, we should be trying to double or triple it. NOT sitting back. That crowd were anonymous in the second half, no noise at all except at the final whistle.
Soooo stressful but that’s a massive win. We play Adelaide away next week so a real chance to climb the table, although Goodwin and Irankunda are in terrifying form.
Think the scheduling helped us in this one too, because if this was played over in Aussie then we would have been without him today.
We've started our customary Phoenix unbeaten run a little late this season, but by golly it's better late than never. Always a great feeling when we pull one over on the smurfs too.
Still, 3 points in the bag, and we inch closer to guaranteeing our spot in the 6.

another potential 6 pointer, steal points of teams above us and hope some results go our way. We play on Friday evening so we can start the weekend off with a win.

Yeah, whether Irankunda starts or not we will definitely need to keep an eye on him.
Think he will be starting because Halloran will be suspended? Will be interesting to see how he goes starting hopefully he won't be as effective.

Good chance he will I reckon. Adelaide undefeated in their last NINE games (!!!). But last time they played us we came away with a 3-1 win, and it was a 1-1 draw in the meeting before that.

I agree, it does make for a hard watch but I was generally really impressed with our defending. We were well organised, effective in the air and always had a body in the way.
Considering the quality Sydney have up front (compared to the Jets for example) it was nowhere near as last-ditch as we've often seen. A few good Oli saves but we certainly weren't relying on him to keep us in the game. And even though I get frustrated with our inability to seize control of a game and keep it you can't argue with back to back wins.
Absolute stupidity from the Nix. Again. And they wonder why people don't go to games or watch on TV. And there is also way too much distracting advertising round the pitch (on tv). It's just unwatchable.
Im pleased the Nix won,but I couldn't watch it. The women's game the day before was much more watchable.
Greed is ruining the spectacle, although other sports are clearly engaged in doing that at the moment too.

Is the city of Auckland's typical colours not blue?
Yes, I get that it was against Sydney, but the good intentions were there.
Probably a petty position to take but there is no excuse for the number of times we don’t wear our stripey. This BS about sponsors is simply that BS, just as simple to change the sponsors name on the front of the shirt to meet any “obligations”. Away strips should be for that purpose and the odd special occasion with a commemorative shirt or something.

It's a commericial agreement they have with the sponsors, Yellow kit has Oppo, Blue kit is Spark! Spark want to be seen at home. This has been discussed musltiuple times and even Dome has said it was purely a contractural things to get the best deal. Quit complaining baout it, it's not changing this season. Dark blue vs light blue isnt exactly a new thing in the league.

As Domey has said already, to have both sponsors on both kits would mean spending money on four kits rather than two, so twice the cost.
"And they wonder why people don't go to games or watch on TV."
If more people went to games (or paid to watch it on TV), the Nix wouldn't have to do weird deals with shirt sponsors to make ends meet. As I've said elsewhere - you want quality, pay for it.
The blue on blue was shark but being amgry at the Nix seems odd.
It wasn't unwatchable as they were very distinct versions of blue bit I woulda thought Sydney would have to wear an away strip.
As for greed with advertising and stuff, like the owners lose money hand over fist on the club. I'd say greedy is the opposite take to the truth.
Ok , maybe not "greed", but the event/spectacle is being ruined by decisions based on finance. If thats professionalism, then you can keep it, I will just watch my local club. I am a founder member, but im very close to giving it up

I had zero issues with the kits at the game but when I got back to the hotel & watched the replay, it was terrible. Must have been down to the way the sun lit things for TV. Day games at Macedonia Park for the Glory ALW team have the same kinda issues.
watched it on the telly, no issues in identifying who was who. People making this an issue have got to get over it. The club has to make these decision to avoid spending money unnecessarily, the owners arent about to through more money out the door just so we can see yellow and balck every home game. They need to maximise the money the get from sponsors cos they arent getting the requried from attendances.
So the real question is what that a big enough crowd for the club to break even on? Cause of they need 10k for welly they'd surely need more to break even on Eden Park.
Poor crowd - but I think the game got lost in the noise of the Breakers and super Rugby starting up again recently.
Really need some good media coverage to get crowds in - hopefull we get a few wins on the trot and come the next Auckland game we are pushing for home finals to boost numbers.
