4 wins in 23 at Coopers Stadium.
Halloran out for them

Would honestly rather Halloran in, he was terrible last time we played them and got sent off.

Nervous nervous nervous about this. More than happy for to park the bus from the first minute if it means we come away with a point. Adelaide are red-hot now, and I hope we don't fall apart

Their attack has been impressive last 5 games with 16 goals but they've also conceded 11 in the last 5 games. So could be an open game and hopefully, we can keep Irankunda and Goodwin quiet.

I watched their last game and Irankunda impressed me  - a raw new talent much as Ben Waine was on first look.  The kid has great future if he stays uninjured.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

even that might be an understatement, he's got 4 goals and 2 assists in his first 13 professional league games... Unreal talent

The two in-form teams of the comp - excited but oh so nervous. Adelaide look dangerous.

Park the bus and get out of here with a point please, 'Nix.

Bally is due. BK can score. Kosta might surprise me. Time for a defender to score as well. Come on Nix.

Lewis to play?

Will be interesting to see how we play without a big man up front. I guess instead of pinging long balls up to him we'll be pinging long balls in behind for Kosta..
Need Ball and Kosta to chip in with the goals.

I mean, good on Gauci for doing this, every bit helps at the end of the day.

With Zawada missing this week though, it's definitely made his task a hell of a lot easier!

With Alex King as referee

ADL: 11 wins, 4 draws, 8 losses
WEL: 8 wins, 4 draws, 8 losses

Would love it if we just blew them off the park, but would take a gritty 1-0 too.

Have we won there since the Boyd game? Feel like we have.

Not as long ago as I thought. Although in saying that our successes in South Australia over the years have been very few and far between.

Coopers Stadium - Pretty high up there as a Phoenix graveyard, right alongside AAMI Park.

Suncorp was too, we're doing pretty well so far at Dolphin Stadium though.

A result that is very hard to predict.  Would be very happy with a point before we have kicked off.  We might end up being very disappointed in only getting a point.

Without Zawada I would be very happy with a point. I think this game could be a rough watch as Adelaide look to have kicked into a new gear and are thrashing any team outside the top 6. I think that result against Melbourne City is a good example of how hard we may find it tonight.

My personal prediction is a close loss but I am always hopeful :)

And there would be no shame in a close loss - Adelaide simply moved up a gear over the last few weeks and they are in a match-winning form. On top of that, they are playing at home.  It would be heartening if we at least scored tonight, despite Zawada's absence.
The game will be a good opportunity to gauge if we actually have a well rehearsed Plan B for those occasions when Zawada is not available.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Need to go into this game with the mentality of finals footy. These are the trips you need to feel like you can get something out of if you ever hope to make a good run of it come the pointy end of the season.
We've been a lot more of a cohesive defensive unit recently so here's hoping

2-3, Kosta to step up with 2 and Kraev with one and an assist. Goodwin with a brace. Adelaide to score first.

Kosta hat trick. No Zawada? No problem. A new role, another goal.

Sasse and BK to score. a 2 nil away win.

Irankunda not starting is good for us but also could be a lot worse coming on when we're just holding on...

Yeah his pace off the bench at 65-70 mins is a bit frightening with our defence. Seems to playing a similar role to what Kuol was doing off the bench at CCM before he left. Certainly one to keep an eye on and enjoy while he's in the A-League.

Key to the match will be keeping Goodwin quiet though, probably the best player in the league?
Feel like Kosta's been a bit quiet this season. Mind you limited chances off the bench. May be a bit past his best but He's been prolific for other seasons for other teams. Think he'll have a bit to prove with a start tonight really gunning for him to seize the moment tonight!

Hard to feel coonfident about this one. Adelaide have the ability to move the ball at real pace, and we really struggle against that. And they're quite a different proposition on their own patch (nice ground btw). Newcastle on song have a bit of a habit of doing this to us as well (depending upon which Newcastle turns up).

Feels like any points here will be bonus points for us.

I know, I know, its serious!

Yeah probably the toughest away trip right now in the a league. Be nice if it was a loose game with lots of goals. Better watch than low score and sitting deep and trying to hold on.

Let's win this!

It will be interesting to see how differently we play without zawada. Kosta and ball not gonna get purchase on crosses in from the full backs.

Good we are wearing yellow (would be nice to see that at home too!).

I would take the latter for a win!

Sasse does some great things, but then fails at the simplest…
