does it not count as an assist if it is an OG?
Unfortunately it looked to me on one particular replay angle that it was going to go wide of the far post if it didn't hit miranda. Can't see it being overturned YoungHeartHM

God I hope Surman gets credited with that goal. Fully deserved it this season
I hope so too so that OVH keeps his assist. What a ball when it really mattered the most!
Can't stop replaying that goal. When that cross from Van Hattum came in, you just knew it was going to lead to something.
Yep, honestly wouldn't be mad if OVH started. I think he has the best delivery of a dead ball in the squad. I think he has been given the job three times I can remember off the bench and each time produced a dangerous ball in the right area - much better than anything our other players have managed to muster - apart from Kosta's almost goal/assist last night

Is that our first goal from a dead ball situation? Excluding pens of course.
Make of this what you will. I know Piney & Spoonley contested this very hotly. 😂
But Opta - the company that do the stats for the A-League, gave Ben Old's second goal v Adelaide the other week as being scored from a corner, because the play hadn't broken down in to the next phase or something like that.
Special mention to Kosta for last night. Don’t know if you could see on TV but very noticeable for me at the ground. Every time we got forward Kosta made a burst in behind looking for space all the time. He was quiet overall but boy he put a lot of effort in.

If anyone's been following along seeing if they'd update who was given the goal on Friday. I'm just letting you know that they've quietly gone and taken Surman's goal off him and given it as a Roderick Miranda own goal.

Seems not all VUC fans are cods. Unlikely the football was at the same level as the photography.
Will there be a similar pre game game Yellow Fever verus Purt next season?!
To coincide with the @WgtnPhoenixFC v Melbourne Victory match on Friday April 12th, fans from both teams got together for a friendly. Weather did not play ball at all, but the match was played in the right spirit with the half-time oranges replaced by shots.#COYN#WELMVCpic.twitter.com/NiXsQebWnJ
