Anyone get the members email from the club just now?
Keeps saying the match this weekend against WSW is at Hnry Stadium and mentioning the ring of fire.
Also says it's the first match under the new naming rights of Hnry - so I think they copy and pasted it from the email for the Sydney FC game.
I hope no-one in Welly gets confused and buys tickets only to find the game is in Christchurch

Yeah. Got that. Embarrassing (or worse)
I know, I know, its serious!

I didn't receive an email, maybe I've dropped off the email list. In any case, this is basic stuff you would hope the club would get right but is failing at. Not sure what if any is being done to really promote this game. Social media seems quiet like it's the bloody off season. I know some super cars things is on tomorrow already is attracting thousands so I fear it might be another tiny crowd. Can't say I blame the general public, season hasn't been great and with a beggars chance of making the six, expectations are pretty low.
I'm a glutton for punishment so see you in Christchurch. COYN

I see the club sent an apology email not long after, still very embarrassing for them though!
I think it will be a good crowd actually, at least 10k. I just bought 8 tickets yesterday and looks like most of the bays on the main stand are sold out and a good chunk of the cheaper behind the goal seats are sold too.
Have to give credit to Mainland Football who have moved all local football forward by a couple of hours to allow people plenty of time to attend.

Open training and signing session today (Friday) at Apollo Projects Ground - 3pm.
Is anyone interested in this game or are we looking at next season already?
Pity it isnt being played at the new stadium - that would have increased crowd numbers as people are keen to look at it. And it would have been a good dry run before next weekends SuperRound Rugby.

Still could make finals so might as well keep the delusion alive
if Brisbane beat City the chances improve a ton, Adelaide have been bit of bogey team for City with Adelaide only losing once in their last 7 games.

Worth noting that straight after the Nix match, is the Roar hosting Melb City.
So by sometime tomorrow night (or earlier if the Nix don't beat WSW), we will know if the Nix's faint playoff hopes survive into the final round.

Wonder if Singh had a set back or since our chances making the top 6 are slim they didn't think it'd be worth the risk to play him for this game.

I've been impressed by the advertising around Christchurch for this game.
Two of the dairies within walking distance in my neighbourhood here in Linwood even have big posters plastered on the side of them.
Usually they take out advertising on the backs of the city buses too.
Ticket prices are very reasonable, in fact bloody good for a pro sports event in the current day:
Starting at:
Adult: $20.40 each
Child: $9.18 each

All fellow football fans that I know are going.
I think that people feel more positive since the general upswing since Greenie took charge.
Barbarouses and Kraev in the opposition add interest to Kiwi football followers.
Should be a decent crowd considering the good weather forecast too:

Hi, it’s Laurel here, venue manager at Fraser Park Events (at Ricoh Centre). For those who may not know, it’s the home of the WPX Academy, and Wellington Phoenix have been the operators of the centre since last year.
Tomorrow (Sat 18th), the Reserves are playing Miramar at 3pm. We’ll have the bar open from 4pm and will be showing the A-League 5pm game on the screen. The café will be open during the game if anyone’s hungry.
The address is 237 Taita Drive, Avalon, Lower Hutt and the bar is upstairs on the right. There’s free parking out front. See you there.

If impossible to make the top 6, I'd like to see some of the less tried players given a start. Foremost Loke, who IMO has shown real talent. At the start of the season, I said Payne might be in decline, and Loke would press him for a start. But one misstep, and he's dropped from the squad. He can beat a man, is quick, skilful, and unlike other right backs, rarely passed the ball into touch or to the opposition. Deserves another look.
Also Cassidy, whom many seem to rate, and Munro. Neither's had much game time and it'd be interesting and useful, for next season, to see what they're like. Less so Supyk, GSR, and Smith.

For sure you'd hope Greeny gives a few of the young players a run next week against MAC, if the Nix are yes finally 100% out of playoff contention.
But if the Nix win tomorrow, and Melb City lose to the Roar, then it will still be game on against MAC, and you play your best side in Sydney.
Noting the Nix v MAC is next Friday, and MC host Adelaide next Sunday.
Also from an AWs perspective we want Payne playing the next few weeks, leading into the WC.

Can we not put Sheridan on media duties again lol.
A few of our players come across of having the personality of a wet sponge. Retres interview yesterday was boring as well. Mind you the questions don't help, really need a James Mconie type journo to get them out of their shells.

I am feeling a bit nervous about today's game, Western Sydney will be hell bent to get a result,
Hopefully Kosta and Kreav don't have a blinder!!
As for getting into the finals, it depended on too many other results.
Let's look forward to the next season with whoever is coaching and who will be in the team.
As I now retired, I will be able to get to some home games next season.

Yep despite Greenie's refrain of going for it while it is mathematically possible, we all know that 6th place is gone so I would like to see more experimentation in the lineup today with an eye towards next season.
Totally expecting the same lineup with Payne and Sheridan swapped like you said. I know Payne is working his way back to full fitness but he deserves to be dropped after his mistake last week and Sheridan the home town boy did nothing wrong the week before.

Can we nick the stands for the Hutt Wreck and new home of the Phoenix, away from an empty cake tin??

LKH in for Edwards at least. It's a start.
Payne preferred over Sheridan too, which I like. Even though past his best, Payne's better on attack.

Piney said that Greenie will be announced as next year's boss this coming week.
Also, how annoying is the Nix consistently giving the wrong formation to the broadcasters. Gives them no competitive advantage, just makes the broadcast and the competition seem amateurish. Shooting themselves in the foot.

Oh hey the forums are back up. Admittedly I tried twice a month or so ago and then gave up.
Anyway, I note that Jason Pine said that our defence is doing well.
So I look forward to the goals we will now concede because of that. Thanks Piney.
Also, that was a great chance to pass...

Najarrine loses the ball.
Fraser is such a wanker(thanks Christchurch Fever!) went down clutching his head earlier after backing into Rami earlier.
Rufer has made two great tackles he’s been pulled for and now a yellow meaning he misses out the next two games.
Oi Fraser 🖕
