I was up in arms about Kraev getting pulled down in the box. Rufer said don't even worry about the penalty appeal.

We have been figured out completely and every team knows it. I don't see how we win games now. We don't have the depth/players to do much different. I hope I'm wrong.

This aged well.

Perth caused that goal by passing the bloody thing backwards and sideways and backwards again. Till they lost it. Stupidity.

This fad of negative football needs to be thrown out.

It is really beyond my comprehension that Giancarlo Italiano and the rest of the highly qualified professional coaching staff do not formulate the team’s game plan based upon the guidance provided by the experts on this forum. Instead of being 2nd on the table and currently leading 2-1 in this game I’m sure the Phoenix would have the competition wound up by now.

Would have been interesting to see the replay of that had Rufer not absolutely nailed that shot. Looked for all money that Kraev was being dragged down in the box.

All academic anyway.

Very average opening half hour.
Very impressive last 15 or so minutes.

They'll come out firing this 2nd half though. Got to keep up the momentum from the backend of that 1st half.

I think that’s something Danaskos allowed Perth to do early on, and here again.

Yeah, but how long has Italiano been our head coach? Just over 6-8 months if that. In contrast, some of us here have been banging the YF keyboards for over a decade. He is a novice compared to us. Experience matters.

Assuming Sail is still riding the pine so it might be a little tougher scoring against them.
Kosta scored last time we played against Cam Cook, I say let him continue the streak

This aged well too. Nice one.

What are you talking about? He was yelling approx 100 more swear words than the forum here and told them exactly what we discussed her: Get your shark together and play forward.

We’re not usually this poor though…a loss and a draw an we’re terrified it’s all over.

We’ve controlled possession and built up slowly all season. It is how we play. And suddenly this feature of our style is being slated across the board.

Remember Hudson selected him as a striker for the All Whites in 2017. He said at the time that the Phoenix were wrong on the player (he wasn't getting any game time for the Nix). Maybe Hudson wasn't all wrong...

I am happy that for all their decent attacking, Perth did not persist with the kind of relentless high press we had to endure against Sydney FC.  This means we get chances to play out from midfield to the wings.
Stajcic is no mug and I am sure he will read them a riot act in the dressing room at halftime. We are lucky Fornaroli is away, their attack is not as sharp as it would have been otherwise.

Sydney's high press was only successful because the ref allowed them to foul us whenever we broke it. If a team presses us then every time we break it we will have a good goal scoring opportunity, as long as the ref is in control of the game.

Jesus, some of you need to chill the fudge out. This is how we play away from home, we keep posession, build up slowly looking for runs in behind the defence. Kosta's goal is the classic for this style, a lovely pass from Ball through the defence and Kosta makes a sublime run and does the necessary work to hit the back of the net. Call it what you want but you can't deny it's effective. We are equal top with Victory with a half to go before we head home.
Great to see Rufer score his third, reckon the rain now helps us to be fair.
Fudge, that's a screamer from a CB.

"He's got a great goalscoring highlights reel Alex Rufer. 3 goals in 133 games now..."

- Australian commentator.

Not sure if that was a complement or pure sarcasm.

Slow start to the second half too. The rain probably won’t help either.

Wake up now boys.
