The business geniuses and management at Phoenix HQ should have made changes last Christmas or at least after the season. They don’t sell tickets, they won’t sell any of those players. The Phoenix brand is worth less and less.

We are lucky we don't play at home over the christmas break.
Such a flat game. And such a flat atmosphere at the game, who knows if anyone will turn up next time.
The stadium needs to chill out, they confiscated the cowbell from the one MacArthur fan who turned up. Not exactly the way to attract fans. Wasn’t causing any harm.
I’m embarrassed that we treated a travelling supporter that way, especially when some idiot towards the front of the Fever zone threw a can that landed in the area where the staff stand around. I hope security hauled them out because that is not ok.

Think you might find things like that need to be cleared before hand by the stadium and the A League. YF has had to go through the process so why shouldnt visiting fans even if it was just a cow bell. Disgraceful to see a can thrown also not sure if he was pointed out by those around him. As for those suggesting it slipped total BS.
A quick google indicates the lowest Nix crowd as 3060 in 2013
Yesterday 3677 attended.
Heaven forbid what the crowd may be like next weekend if the weather is bad but even if it’s good it may be the lowest in history.
The lowest ever attendance at the Sky Stadium was last night 3677. Followed by round 24 last year by 3698 against WSW The 3060 number comes from 2012-13 season played in Dunedin. source: UltimateALeague.com
Our squad isnt good enough... nor is our coach. We should have released our to Jap imports and fired Chief last season.
Enough with the Jap chat.
Why... both were not good enough last year. 1 is out for the year this year and the other... wouldn't make another A League side pushing for a top 6 spot.
If I can argue for Chief to go... why can't I them??
I think that was more in reference to the fact that 'Jap' is a pretty offensive term going back to the WW2 era. In those days Nagasawa and Ishige would have been referred to as Japs in the same way that Oly, Eze etc would have been referred to by a word beginning with n....
Saying they aren't up to the standard and should have been released is fine and acceptable, referring to them using that word is less so.
it’s gone a bit far if a fan can’t have a cow bell that’s smaller than a can of beers.
My point being they need to let fans be fans and create the atmosphere otherwise people just won’t bother turning up
If you have been to an Auckland game at my smart you’d have seen we’ve got a huge amount of work to do to create an experience fans will pay to come to.

Was the 2nd lowest A-League crowd this year. Macarthur v Adelaide at 3001 the lowest. So far. 3rd lowest 4,813 CCM v Nix.
"Was the 2nd lowest A-League crowd this year. Macarthur v Adelaide at 3001 the lowest. So far. 3rd lowest 4,813 CCM v Nix." We could argue that it's Macarthur that is dragging the season's metrics down,,,,,
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
For all the millions the owners have pumped in to the club including all the off field investment and academy etc they must have left the stadium yesterday thinking where has it all gone wrong?
Average football, poor result, minimal improvement so unsurprisingly poor crowds and poor atmosphere. Somethings gotta give. Last season was a warning
I won't comment on the game, because repeating what others have already said would only reignite the angst. But I am left with some questions: - Why did it take solid 15-20 minutes from the kickoff for Armiento to receive the ball? Was it us, or was it Macarthur knowing how to block his supply since he is a known danger? - Why did it take pretty much 90 minutes for us to register a shot on target? Was Macarthur defence so good? Did they press us high in their own half? - Is Najjarine a Retre in disguise when it comes to on-field output and play quality?

I hope Chiefy can be bold and make some changes going forward. The Conchie, Ramy partnership just doesn't work. The best we've looked is in that CCM game with Cassidy, Rufer and Nagasawa further forward. Loke is better offensively than Sheridan which is more important from our wingbacks. LBS needs a chance at starting he looked one of our better players in the Australian cup when starting and will only improve with more gametime even if he's a bit raw currently.Screenshot 2025-11-23 at 1.49.11 PM.png406.85 KB
Something's gotta give alright. We gotta give Chiefy another contract extension. Nix fans have short memories, he did well in his first season and he is going to get us back to that level any day now. mykey

By my account he's got 2 weeks - Adelaide, and then the derby in Auckland.
The promise when Chiefy was granted the extension was that the derbies would be a very firm yardstick.
As it stands, and as much as I try and be optimistic even in the tough times (Because they can't go on forever can they?) I have precisely zero hope that we will get anything out of the next two games... That's zilch/zip/nada.
Sheridan’s game was unfortunate. He’s worked very hard on different positions for better results for us.
We had an unfamiliar back 3, Ruferoff the plane, no LBS, previous injury woes and a lot of criticism of conceding early due to a high line.
It still doesn’t explain why we were loath to attack and get into a transitional duel. Once we did we looked the better side and we should have scored.
Also, Piney welcome back. Enjoyed the call! Yeh I’m fickle. Wanna have a reason to quote Chote!

Because it is a racist slur. It’s that simple and we’ve had this discussion before. Being half Japanese, I find it abhorrent.

Apologies... no intent to offend and the earlier conversations slipped my mind. I pride myself on being very vocal against any form of ism, so am disappointed to have caused offence WanderingSheep. Certainly not my intent. Sorry once more.

Appreciated! I have always found you to be a very level headed poster so was disappointed to read the OP, but happily accept the apology 👍
Cant see us beating a very good Adelaide or getting a result in Auckland. So the run into Xmas will be grim. But at least we comfort ourselves with the knowledge that we have the best facilities in the AL and that our Charter school will be up and running soon and we have eight teams fully funded and we employ over fifty staff. Some times i wonder if the senior mens team is not really the clubs primary focus. I am just a humble football fan and would rather we spent less money on all that stuff and maybe keep players like Kraev and all the other half decent players who we dont seem to be able to retain. Because if there is no change in direction the club will just continue to drift into obscurity.
Why do people think that by the club having multiple interests, it means our men's team suffers? Like I'm 100% against the charter school but, but all for the academy space and the women's team. Domey isn't the manager, neither is Gill. Though the latter will have a hand in the recruitment so is more in the frame for blame. But they will be very well aware of the situation, and I'd argue they probably have a list of replacements in mind for chief, as it is the problem he has created.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

I think it's more that some fans are sick of hearing about all the other things the club does while the mens team continues to be, at best, extremely average.
I guess it gives a sense that the club makes out that these things will make us better but then it never seems to have any flow on success.
It's definitely more of a vibes thing, I'm sure that deep down we all know that all clubs do multiple things, but it can feel like they don't care that much about what most would agree should be their main priority.
