That is brilliant. Cracking interplay in and around the box! Kraev, Sutts and in for Waine to tidy up.

We're cooking now lads!

Obligatory 🚂 for Waineo goal too.

I'm pretty sure he saved a goal with that one. Was certainly arrowing towards that top corner going off the replays.

When this team is good, it's so damn good.  That first 40 minutes we looked the better team and I was nervous we were gonna lose 1-0, especially with some Kurto saves.

Once they got that confidence in them the goals flowed.

That last goal there is no chance we even try that without the confidence of being up and hooo boy that was a team clicking.

Just over 6k, so many Wellingtonians missed out on a cracking game.

Your defense is terrified, Ben Waines on fire.

Also ref may have made her mark as best in the league.  Sure she shanked some and should have yellowed McArthur sooner but I'll take it.

Our depth really shows these last two games going to be hard to pick a starting 11 hopefully Zawada scores soon his general play is good just missing the goals.

Hard to pick MOM for me.
I though Laws was good today, especially when he carried and he showed some quick feet at times. Barbs was also every where.
The great thing is, we won comfortably and I still think there is more to come. Good to see Leiws and Urgs gel better, especially after a shaky first 10 mins.

When Rose came on and equalised for Macarthur, I thought "here we go again", but man was that not the case.

Where to begin, easily better than pretty much all of our performances last season, 3 of our goalscorers locals, Ball the most unselfish guy ever, Carter and Rose ain't got nothing on Waine, and Lewis with already a goal of the season contender. That applause for Lily was also very nice to see and probably would've brought a tear to Davila if he was tuning in.

Arzani should've been booked for his acting and the crowd number again disappointing. Like come on Wellington! Sunny day and literally no wind, what more would you want, should've at least been 10K.

Sweet revenge though and I'm glad we got a win before the big break. Let's try for two in a row against WU.

Great game.

Zawada looks like a great team player. Hopefully can add a few goals. Old got one to go, but props to Kosta for putting the hammer down to keep the ball in. Kosta doing great. And Kosta and Ball are allowed on the park at the same time! Wowsers!

Kraev a champ. Gets another.

I wonder how that game would have gone with Uli. That would have been a true test of Lewis and Ugarkovic on defense.

Arzani suffers from the ‘best in the world’ in Oz syndrome a bit imo. The golden boys often don’t have to work as hard as they might or do quite the apprenticeship they should. Lucky not to get booked for diving. Good on the YF for sticking it to him. Was happy to see Uzkok booked and loved the disbelief in the voice of the commentator ‘that’s his first yellow of the season.’

We scored four, but it felt like we created about 10-12 reasonable looks at goal.

Very happy to see Kraev and Sutton developing an understanding! Two goals they’ve created now.

Bit worried about Ollie’s decision making on when and how far to come off his line. It’s a fine line, and perhaps not a mistake, but it may affect games down the line. I don’t feel he’s on the same notice as the other players.

Imo that goal from Lewis is overdue and he owes us a couple more, including from open play at least! Good to see goal threat from every player in the midfield and forward line.

Nice sighter from Sasse too. Would be stoked if he could do a Hemed/Uli and find his feet in the end of the season.

Great win. We need to be able to repeat the dose against teams that come at us more and have a bit more backbone. We still haven’t made up for our weak start given the quality of the team. I don’t accept dropping points against the Mariners or Jets. We should’ve won the game against City. I think this team can win the league and I want to see them give it a damn good go.

Not a lot of mention of Bally after that game, but I don't think there is anyone else in our squad with the timing to make that angled run and then the presence of mind to play Kraev in first time while sitting down Kurto

Great game, sadly attended by just over 6k. Toss in, 7k the other week and 3.5k for an NPC Semi-Final, I've come to the conclusion it is not the ticket prices keeping people away, but the price of Parking and eating and drinking at the games. Blame the Stadium Trust for their greed. Both Rugby and Football fans are staying away. Yep, financial times are tough for sure.

On a beautiful day like today, here was a chance to get some fresh air and watch a promising game. Well, the Nix delivered, the weather delivered.

As for this team, some of the stuff I have seen at their practices, I got the feeling that they would dish it out to a team sooner or later. Not just scoring 4 class goals but they style of support play. The stuff off the ball. Oh and if anyone messes with our smaller players, Zawada goes and has a little chat to the offending opposition. I picked up on that today too. It was an awesome effort that left every fan happy. I'm sure the players appreciated it. Because my Granddaughter was suffering a bit from the sun/heat, we kept moving to different spots around the stadium, trying to keep in the shade for the most part. The noise made from all of the crowd just echoed around. So well done Fever and the general populous, you actually made it sound quite loud for most of the game game.

I can't be at next week's game - Working a 2pm-10pm shift, But I definitely want to be at the game on the 20th (I have that day off) and support our women's first real home game. They deserve it too. I've watched them practice and I am picking them to be a surprise bundle this year. They are making huge efforts at practice. Please, if you can make it, come along and support them. They deserve it.

I suspect a lot of the potential and slightly less 'Nix passionate crowd has spent chunks of this weekend watching the Black Ferns and the T20. So we're up against two World cups for eyeball time in front of matches. But 6k nevertheless dissapointing on a perfect day. Maybe the gardens, bike parks and beaches were getting a work out too.

Four great goals. Less defensive frailty, though still some shaky moments. I thought the defensive workrate and alertness from Clayton picked up. Macarthur aren't the best side, especially w/o Ulises, but a decent step up in attacking combinations and finish from us and the subs are lethal for maybe the first time in 'Nix history?

Onwards and hopefully upwards.

I know he's the hometown boy and everyone wants big things for him but I really do like the use of Ben Waine as an impact sub. He's getting results. There's enough healthy competition and depth up front, but I'm not too cut if he's not starting. I'm really  liking these bursts where he comes on later in the game and can seal the deal. Will do wonders for his confidence and will he'll develop and build up his composure in front of the goal.

Irrespective of crowd number, I gotta say as someone that watched on tv (don't live in Welly sadly), the atmosphere was excellent especially in that second half - well done Yellow Fever. Great effort.

Hopefully more will come to the WU game after that scintilating performance!

Not too bad given the financial strain a lot of people are under. I wanted to be there today, but family had to come first this weekend. Well done to those who went, you did the club proud. Atmosphere sounded good on TV. Next weekend I’ll be there and hopefully drag a few others out of the woodwork. But back to today, that was a superb game, end to end in the first and the quality of goals was outstanding (apart from theirs). Kudos to the ref, thought she did a great job.

Excellent performance by the lads this arvo. Despite a bit of a wobbly start and a bit of panic at the back to begin with, we really grew into that game exceptionally.

Special mentions to the Kiwi lads who are starting to contribute more and more to the cause. Fantastic header from Old to open his account for the season, Lewis for that cracking free-kick (more of that please!) Kosta just being an absolute menace, but also making some excellent runs in behind and utilising good close passing and movement in that final third - Special mention for hauling ass to keep that ball in play for our opener too!

Sutton going from strength the strength down that left hand side forming a good combination with Kraev and looking every bit like he'll be one of the best LWB in the league - nice assist for him today too for Waineo's goal.

Waineo just keeps doing what we're accustomed to. He'll be snapped up by someone overseas next season surely!? Well, provided the right offer comes in...

Sail, well he couldn't keep the clean sheet, but those couple of early saves off Carter reminded me of the Oli Sail from last season. Good to see him playing with a smile on his face. Looked more assured in between the sticks than he has at any stage so far this campaign.

And finally Callan Elliot. I thought he was going to be thrown to the wolves early on after Macarthur started targetting him down that right hand side - Arzani looked like he might run amok early on. But to his credit he stuck at it, and for most parts he kept managed to keep him right under his thumb. Sure there were a few occasions where Arzani got the better of him, but that's to be expected when you've got the pace and movement that he possesses. Overall though he equipped himself well and even laid on his first assist for the club with a delightful little cross to the near post for Old to nod home.

It is a team game though, and having the likes of Kraev, Bally & Zawada on the scene along with those Kiwi lads makes us a very frightening proposition going forward this season. It's been a while since we've looked such a threat across the park. Think we're just warming into this season quite nicely. If we can shore ourselves up at the back and maintain a strong spine to the team then we're looking promising.

Now hopefully we can back it up again next weekend against a piss poor WU. Lets get a few more than 6,135 in the stands for that one!

I still think we need a 10k rectangular traditional football stadium. The atmosphere would be incredible, and there would be an element of scarcity, so you'd likely end up selling out or getting close to it each week.

It's a real shame that the proposed Petone stadium got rejected several years back.

Anyways, I'll be there week-in-week-out. Won't miss a game.

Seems like the announcer did a bit of prep before the game, and learnt the players names. It made a big difference. Credit where credit is due.

Loved the Freed from Desire chant. "Ben Waine's on fire, your defence is terrified". Absolute classic.

Some fine football after a wobbly start. Well done, those combinations are really starting to fire. Good one Uffie, another game of five starting changes, but this time they worked out well.
Oliie best game so far this season. Somehow our central defenders/midfielders take a while to tighten up their marking, but Ollie rescued us.
Looking forward to next week.
