Given the short turnaround till the 23rd would rather they air on the side of caution with Zavada. Would much prefer to see him banging them in at the stadium
Wellington Phoenix will be without Oskar Zawada for tomorrow night's ALM clash with Macarthur FC. He hasn't recovered from the thigh contusion he suffered against Newcastle last weekend.@newstalkzbsport
Not feeling positive about this one to be honest. I think we'll be lucky to walk out with a draw. My only hope is that the A-League is a funny place and just like the Jets were predicted to lose so too are we - anything can happen.
If we win, people will be talking about us again like we can win the comp rather than having a 'lucky start' before getting smashed by an average jets team.
hot take from you! amazed you're not positive. This season has already been one of those "different than others". We are 7 games into the season and we've had one loss! Never happened! If ever we were gonna break the Monday-itis this would be it, Macarthur have just come back from the Phillipines, they'll be knackered or playing a b-side. This woud have to be our best chance to grab the win and get back to the top of the lague. 1-0 to us.

Love the confidence. I forgot they were coming back from the Phillipines to be honest, weren't they playing a team of kids though since they'd already qualified or something??
I am so positive that we've had a great start to the season but I just think MacArthur away from home will be very tough... To me they look like one of the better teams in the comp. Davila, probably the best creative player in the comp looks back to his best. We struggled last week against Piscopo who is a worse but slightly faster creative player.
I think you might just not rate MacArthur that highly since they aren't a big name team like City, Victory or SFC. Make no mistake, they're the form team in the comp and this is our toughest challenge yet. Even when we were top of the table I thought they looked the most dangerous.
Guess we'll soon see how tired that Philippines game has made them.

Uli, Lewis and a few other usual starting players didn't travel but a fair chunk of the squad did. Fatigue might be an issue at some point but my guess is this will be cancelled out by the Nix's own fatigue, considering they are playing an away game at the equivalent of 9-11pm NZ time.
Looking forward to watching along at work tonight, have set up my work day yesterday so that hopefully I'll be able to watch along uninterrupted. 😂
Zawada out is a huge blow, but I'm still confident and am expecting a reaction after last week.
I reckon we're not too far from seeing Sutton and Old coming into the starting XI, in saying that, will last week's collective performance be the catalyst for change? I think it might be. Would like to think we'll see Supyk at some point as well - game situation dependent of course.
Also I know unrelated, but how awesome the central coast game being rescheduled to sky stadium on Waitangi Day. A Tuesday 4pm game kids go free should be great

Complete bullshark for some just love how the A League and clubs dont give a shark about rescheduling games with no thought at all to those who have already made flight/accomodation bookings. May suit some but for others it just plain sucks and happens season after season. Really making me question if its really worth the effort to go that extra mile to support them.

I realise that sucks quite a bit for you but that's common here in the UK and Europe too, especially when TV gets involved.

Fans over there also kick off about it though, for similar reasons.

Two home games in 4 days is gonna be tough on the wallet. I get the agnst with the changes but it is kinda the nature of live sport in any code, fixtures move and change - the schedule pre-=season isn't locked in. Sure it sucks if you're travelling adn you have flights etc but it is what it is.

The CCM match being moved was announced over 3 months before its scheduled date, that is a lot of advanced notice for people to alter plans. And it was only moved to accommodate the Unite Round, which was the make do for scrapping the Sydney Grand Final. So it's a unique circumstance.
▪️ Ball, Old & Sutton come into the Starting XI ▪️ Al-Taay & Kelly-Heald shift to the bench ▪️ Zawada misses this match due to injury ▪️ Hughes comes onto the bench
Sutts and Old are giving the ball away a bit already. Hope they sort it out.
Yeah a few cheap turnovers, hopefully they can iron that out.
Sutts has managed some wonderful turns so far though to beat Macarthur defenders. Done Nicolau all ends up just then and gets him a yellow card. Lovely bit of quick feet there.
