So we have 5 covid cases at the moment (pending any recoveries). Piscopo, Bozinovski, Van Hattam, Prso, Surman, Payne and Hooper all missed the FFA cup game. So not sure which 2 aren't covid cases.
Short turn around too.

Stuff article yesterday mentioned Van Hattum had a tight hamstring after the Adelaide game

Two were COVID cases and three had an equivocal result to the fast antigen test which could mean they had to then be properly swabbed and tested with the slow but accurate old school test. If this result is negative they should hopefully be cleared to play. My comment is speculative so others may correct me on this.

The testing regime in NSW is basically collapsing atm. People aren't getting PCR results for 4-5 days so I'm not sure any of the new 3 will be cleared in time.

Going to be a tough ask to play in 2 days time after that 120 min slog. Especially if Hooper, Payne, Piscoppo and the likes are unavailable
Ball looked toasted and in need of a rest. Sutton looks unlikely. many others played 120 minutes. And now we also have an FFA cup game against Vic mid next week.

Whatever happens regarding the lineup come the time I am hoping Pennington did enough in the match last night to shoe he's ready to have a crack starting

Where and in what combo can you put Pennington/Payne/Rufer/Lewis/Laws?
And Fenton/Elliot/Sutton/McGarry for that matter?
The cup run make this a much more interesting dilemma as actually everyone will play.
Also 3 players had the energy and composure to lift their pens (which is much higher percentage) for what it’s worth: Pennington, Waine and Lewis. Sotirio sent the keeper the wrong way. Also not sure that Waine would have got an unblocked shot off- the defender was racing in, so maybe not the wrong option from Louis…

Aim for this match: do not pick up injuries. Do not pick up red cards.

Are we playing mid next week? I thought it was still TBD? Sydney V CCM is the week of the 17th so I'd expect our game to be sometime then too.

Well, we are not going to get any change from the VAR, In fact that incompetent  is most like going to do his usual sub standard performance.

We seem to get the worst out of KGJ every time we step on the park.

Gotta say though I did enjoy Tilio’s card for his stop drop and roll! It wasn’t quite a makeup call, but it still made me happy.
When Uffie started we won a few through pens iirc. Just not in their box enough at the moment to get them I guess!

I miss Hooper's perfect conversions.  Joy to watch.

I think Paulsen is our new No1, and would be surprised if he keeps his spot till the end of the season.

With all the current and upcoming postponed games I like to see how they going to squeeze all the games into the regular season length.

While we weren't in any type of form coming into this match except on a high with the FFA Cup win i believe this break in game time should do us good. It suxs ass not being able to watch us play but honestly weve been unwatchable anyway except going by the Aus TV ratings we rate 20k higher then the Melb Derby going by the Adelaide game.

I wish all the staff at the club a speedy recovery from Covid. As does everyone else I would imagine. Couldn't time it better though - Transfer window.

Let's get a bit realistic about that last result. City are the Champs, City were missing McLaren but otherwise fielded a strong squad. We held them and then beat them.

That result considering our own shortage of experienced players was a fantastic effort by everyone.

I am sure we could come up with a formula to benefit the Nix: in case of a shortened season Nix to be awarded points for missed games.  Here is the plan:
- we already have Clayton Lewis;
- we table a quick offer to Brisbane Lions for this guy: https://qldlionsfc.com.au/player/joe-duckworth/

Second game of a midweek double header at Gosford. For some daft reason, we are the late game & CCM are the early game. So both sets of fans getting mucked about by APL scheduling.

Will be tuning into this one from work. Newcastle have plenty to play for too so will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Heavy pitch and lots of rain about will make it a tight game.

1-0 Nix. Lewis to grab the goal.
